Archive.org (Wayback Machine) likes you to contribute

Seem Time is catching up on the venerable Way back Machine Archive @ www.archive.org Some older pages have gone (still lots to see)
However there is also an issue withe The web crawlers these day They don't save a copy often (master of the home page as a rule) or the site is flagging No Bots ..So Archive.org receives nothing
Just before I started making this thread up I inspected WU's logged makers...should be good going back you before 2005
but the truth is there is only about 13 items logged over the last few months!

However on the Homepage of the Wavback machine There is a link inviting you to send a valid webpage URL to the Archive .org Server Provides that the website allows crawlers (does not say Which?)

So I copied the Hints and Tips URL inserted it in the box ...And 20 seconds or so later it was published Does not need a registration to submit

This link may take a few clicks to show But here is what it says ,the page has a Live merrygoround of thumb nailed webpages when you land on it
Save Page Now http://ift.tt/HlMQb8

Quote:

http://
SAVE PAGE
Capture a web page as it appears now for use as a trusted citation in the future.
Only available for sites that allow crawlers.

I have several in mind which have not been around since the early 2000's
and if we get a spare few minutes we'll insert those onto this repository. Fingers crossed
Web Crawlers if they work can take anything from instantly to a few months to publish
