Many (I mean many) years ago I saved some data in an Excel xls file which I protected with a password. With the passage of time .. I have forgotten the password. Password "crackers" are fortunately or unfortunately available on line these days. The problem is that such areas are by definition borderline / dodgy and possibly the domain of malware and I am hesitant about clicking on the first cracker thats pop up. Can anyone offer any advice on what to do in such circs? I can't be the first person in history to forget a password!
