Good pushing? Roman Reigns

Really from Survivor Series we all knew WWE was pushing Reigns to be the next big star in WWE, some thought he might win the Rumble, not sure all expected him to actually be so close to winning it. And then WWE continued to build him up going into Elimination Chamber where we expected a possible split with a big push going into Wrestlemania, some thought he might even get in the WWE title match or face the Undertaker.



Instead the spotlight was taken off Reigns, he was no longer the focal point of the Sheild, Rollins had seemed to become the guy getting pushed in the Shield following Elimination Chamber, and instead of a high profile match, or split, the Shied are facing 3 vets at Wrestlemania, will that be a good match, who knows. But its not high profile.



While in the past years WWE might of pushed Reigns to the moon giving him a PPV main event by now (Ryback, Del Rio, Lesnar ect.) but instead it seems like they might be taking it slow, or at least slowing down the push.



So has WWE done a good job of controlling the push? Your thoughts?

So I happened across a really interesting video a while ago, and decided to re-watch it again this morning. It basically says that, if you take all of the real numbers from one to infinity, you will find a special value of -1/12. This is very interesting as there are not even any negative integers in the original sum.



What I wanted to do with this thread is get all of you to watch it, and say what you think! Do you find things like this interesting as well? Do you disagree, and if so, do you have a counter-proof to say this is wrong? Do you have any really cool math-related videos to share? Let's see!

The WWE's grimmest mistakes. #1 The Ryback Days.

CM Punk turned heel effectively on the 1000th episode on Raw, which was also the same episode where John Cena became the privileged first person to ever cash in the MITB and not win the title. What went on in later weeks was a much more confrontational CM Punk, antagonizing the likes of Jerry Lawler and calling WHC Sheamus a weak second-best champion at best.



Big Show and John Cena had their own story and IMO it made for a lousy triple threat story leading into Summerslam '12 with big show's constant face-heel turns and no credence or credibility at all. Essentially, they needed a freshness to the stale John Cena-CM Punk feud from Summerslam 2011. Big Show became that freshness, with a dose of staleness.



Heelish tactics and some tainted victories later, CM Punk was supposed to face John Cena at HIAC, which would've gone down as one of the most amazing HIACs, and one final cuminating point for the storied rivalry between John Cena and CM Punk, not altogether different and smaller than the storied John Cena and Edge rivalry. In the handful of really good rivalries containing good matches John Cena has had, one could only enlist Edge, Batista, Randy Orton, and CM Punk. But the HIAC needed to happen. And it didn't happen.



Enter Ryback. Feed me more. CM Punk was supposed to say, "Feed you more? This is a WWE ring, not KFC you big gluttonous son of a bit-- ". Lame Ryback entrances, his rigidly moving robot-like body, his deltoids moving and legs stomping while stalking his opponent, Ryback was the weakest and most unbelievable repetition of Goldberg, if there ever was such a thing. It's unarguable that HIAC was a disappointment. Earlier Hell in a Cell used to be the devil's playground where Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and HHH alike wrestled the Undertaker for a good 30 minutes. Now HIAC became a rookie's playground with FEED ME MORE chants, ending disappointingly in 11 minutes and 22 seconds.



Some say the triple threat encounter with Cena and Ryback was a "solid" match, but how good of a story was it? How engrossed were you? How many believed Ryback was the next big thing? Enter Shield. No CM Punk at TLC. This was practically a disastrous 4 months for the WWE, and technically, the entire latter half of 2012 with the same old John Cena and an untalented wrestler with an even more gruesome chant trying to lead the WWE into the next era. IMO, this was one of the WWE's grimmest mistakes, which occur year after year and they only get worse.



So what should've the WWE done instead? The obvious plan B. Not haste, but a proven commodity. Randy Orton. Randy Orton had been a boring babyface WHC and then a floating smackdown superstar since 2011. He did not really have a very successful first half of 2012. And when the WWE knew John Cena couldn't compete, they should've brought back Randy in the spotlight to face CM Punk and rekindle and continue their rivalry from 2011. However this time, CM Punk was the established big name, and Randy was an ineffectual and unmotivated superstar that needed to be kindled. This was the right time. CM Punk and Randy Orton could've saved what was otherwise a chain of flop WWE ppvs from HIAC-TLC. Heck, how obvious it is that a babyface team of Randy Orton would face a heel team of CM Punk in the traditional Survivor Series match? Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle's rivalry from 2003 was built around the same story. The WWE championship and endless envy.



Instead of the disastrous Team Dolph "Really?" Ziggler vs Team Mick "Papa bear" Foley, we would've gotten a solid story and a solid match with Randy Orton and CM Punk. Of course Orton would've lost to Punk in HIAC because it was unjust to give Orton two consecutive victories over Punk in 2011. Why? Because CM Punk deserved better, and Orton had already been given too much time and time again. 2012 was the year of Punk. Not the WWE's time to experiment with Frankenstein. If only Vince Mcmahon knew...



How would I have booked it, since I'm so much smarter than the WWE?



HIAC- CM Punk beats Randy Orton, and Shield interferes on Punk's behalf.

Survivor Series-Randy Orton, John Cena, Ryback and Team Hell No beat CM Punk, Wade Barrett and The Shield in a classic 5-on-5 elimination match.

TLC-Triple threat TLC match. John Cena vs CM Punk vs Randy Orton. (Shield interferes and costs them the match).



This gives a more organic development to the later Randy Orton and John Cena recruiting fellows to feud with the Shield story.

The face of your promotion: John Cena or Triple H

Both John Cena & Triple H are in good favors with the wrestling juggernaut of the world the WWE. With John Cena holding things down as "the face of the WWE" in the ring full-time business is at it's best while Triple H works behind the scene's as a executive doing what's best for business. But if you ran your own wrestling promotion. Which one of these two ring general's would you have to be the face of your company?



The two beat each other once in the three times that they have met in the WWE ring. With of course the third time ending in a double DQ. But really in your own opinions.

But the Undertaker has never defeated Brock Lesner

With Wrestlemania 30 less than a week away, it's "the beast" Brock Lesner next up at the plate to try to end the Undertakers streak at Wrestlemania. It's a good chance that Brock can do it, since he's always managed to beat the dead man one way or another.



Going back to Ruthless Aggression Era beginning in 2002. the year where Brock Lesner and the Undertaker first started their feud with one another. But it was Brock Lesner who stood out in the feud and won it ending it in October in a hell in a cell match. The Undertaker "made him famous" putting Lesner over. But their feud resumed a year later on the Smackdown brand competing for the WWE championship.



The only time in where the Undertaker beat Brock Lesner in a match clean was on an episode of Smackdown in a triple threat match involving the Big Show to be the number one contender for Kurt Angle's WWE title.



A year later at a WWE pay per-view in October in '03 Brock Lesner defeated the Undertaker once again but in a biker's rules match with a biker chain on a stick, with WWE chairman Vince McMahon interfering in the match. In 2004 upon the Undertaker returning back to the WWE with the original Undertaker character. There were plans to feed Brock Lesner to the Undertaker for some reason. But by that time...Brock Lesner quit the WWE to pursue a career in the NFL.



So with the streak at Wrestlemania on the line. Can the Undertaker do what he never did before by defeating Brock Lesner in a one-on-one match or will Brock Lesner be the one to end the Undertaker's winning streak at Wrestlemania? Because the two rival each other in more ways than one.

How good were the Steiner brothers in the ring and overall?

I was not even old enough in 2000 to understand what Kayfabe and storyline is, nor the thin line that divides them with reality. So practically I enjoyed and cheered and laughed without any scope for discernment or criticism, every time I saw The Rock, Kurt Angle, and such; leave aside being old enough in the 1990s. However, it's a big tragedy to not having witnessed the monday night wars while growing up, the awesome WCW product, etc.



As I'm discovering WCW ppvs from 1996 onwards, I also looked up Sting and his surfer gimmick and his feud with Cactus Jack and I stumble across the card of Beach Blast 1992. Needless to say, I'm so impressed with this card, in an era where the WWF had Duke the Dumpster and Koko B. Ware with his bird and what not.

It seems to me that the tag team match closed the show. Now, I've never ever watched a Steiner brothers match, and probably not even the legendary Road Warriors' matches, because the only tag teams I knew were Edge and Christian, Hardys, Acolytes and everything that happened beyond. But it makes me wonder, for a tag team closing a WCW ppv , and being such a big name in WCW during that time, wrestling 30-minute matches, How good were they? What style did they wrestle in? What are their greatest feuds and moments??
