Joy Beverley RIP. Most people will have grown up with the "Bev's" and like 'em or not, you couldn't get far from them in the 50's, 60's and 70's. I remember once my wife and I saw them in our local theater and from our front row seats when they walked off the stage they took a "b" line for me and caressed me whilst
singing, ugh!.
You would have thought I'd learned my lesson with that, but on another occasion when seated in the front row Ked Dodd, invited me to stand up, then turn round, bow to the audience then he told everyone my suit trousers had a split up the rear exposing "me bum".
From then on, it was center stalls.
