Reading Anthony McNee's letter in Issue 381 I decided to try his tip for Firefox.Sadly it didnt work for me. As I do a lot of competitions on various web sites I found Firefox was groaning under the strain of adverts. Not wanting to use Adblock plus (as one site hinted that unless I turned off my adblocker,my chances of winning were reduced)...blackmail:eek:
However I have found that the crawl is being caused by video ads as opposed to flash ads so if you have problems with your browser click the right facing arrow in the top right corner of the ad to find out the advertiser then go to http://ift.tt/1hnADQB and see if the offending company is listed and select the off option. You can if you wish kill all the advertisers within the list but the choice is yours.
Sorry its a bit long winded but I hope it helps anyone speed up their browsing.
