Yesterday, I was talking with a friend who doesn't watch the WWE programming, apart from maybe a Wrestlemania... He is the typical once a year fan, he knows the basics, Cena, HHH etc... He moved to Chicago recently and he was informed WWE had Raw there, so he decided to watch it... His reaction was:
"Wow, this Dean guy with that briefcase, he is freaking amazing, crazy and funny. I wish I could watch him all night, but after he did his thing, everything else was just boring so I didn't watch anything else."
This does not only mean that Dean is just amazing, it also means that everything else is crap, when an outside fan comes in to watch the product. Quoting Cm Punk "this company will be better after Vince McMahon is dead, but it's gonna be taken over by his idiotic daught and his doofus son-in-law". Maybe HHH saw through what Punk said and tried to change the product and the way he wanted to run things. But Punk's words couldn't be any more true. Vince needs to go away.
Dean Ambrose is the sole reason to watch Raw now. Nothing else is interesting. Of course Cena needs to join that feud to elevate it, but hey... Dean has to appear 3 times in every show now to make it watchable. Kinda reminds me back when Punk was the champ and he had to appear 2-3 times on every Raw to make it through the 3 hours. Dean Ambrose carries his segments so well, and if he doesn't get his main event shot, then I have lost all my faith.
WWE seriously has lost all touch with the product and its fans. When you depend on a guy to fill 1 hour of programming himself, then something is wrong. This says a lot about how bad the WWE is. If any of the new guys need to headline Wrestlemania though, that guy is definitely Dean. Not Roman, not Cesaro, not anyone else... Just Dean. He gets it. He knows what he is doing in there. Roman, Cesaro, Seth, Bray can get their shot at some later year. WWE needs to realize the main event potential they have in Dean. I don't wanna be critical about the way they are handling Dean right now in a negative way, because they are doing a good job, but they are now pairing him with Cena, which in most cases can't be a good thing... Just look at Bray Wyatt.
Going into Hell in a Cell, Dean vs Seth needs to happen inside the cell. Cena can have his little match with Orton and/or Kane for a #1 contender's shot. After Dean wins, he can either win the briefcase or not, but then we can have all sorts of continuity. Survivor series match, with teams led by Dean and Seth. TLC match for the briefcase later on... Tear it up at the Rumble and so on.
WWE has a golden opportunity to create the next megastar with Dean. Don't screw it up... You never know who and when might walk out of the door. Just see Cm Punk.
