DNS Server not responding?

I'm running Windows 7 and am trying to replace my current router/modem, which is nine years old but still works OK, with a TP Link Archer D20 dual band router/modem.

When I just disconnect the power, phone line and ethernet cables from the old router and reconnect them to the new router, I get all the lights on, except the internet connection light, and a "Problem" icon in the internet icon in the notification area on the task bar. A run through of the Windows Network troubleshooting file brings up -"DNS Server not responding". A look through the Network Adaptor settings shows the IP and DNS to be obtained automatically. When I reconnect to the old router, everything works fine.

I've tried to telephone Talk Talk, my ISP, but got fed up of constantly talking to machines, and I'm almost sure that it's just a simple matter to put right, but unfortunately, a little beyond me, so I'm turning to the experts, and thanking you in advance.
