Today better than 10? months after installing Yandex.Browser on Windows 7 as an experiment (and Kept it was that good) I thought How about XP?
So I went to the same Download link Selected the Windows Download 112MB and crossed my fingers.. http://ift.tt/1rtTHWv
And it took 2/3 clicks (On the Start menu item) to appear on the install screen> select search engine page >"Google" then it Launched...Moment of truth ...Panicked ! It was the Unstable animated Layout (as the 9x.xxx alpha version) BUT! it was working With the Mountain pass Animated Clouds wallpaper running quite smoothly despite the Lowish connection speed (sub 3MBps)> several more available!
All the Defaults are present (Resident) such as Adguard (Adblocker) and WOT
Layout is Different to the Windows 7 Optimized version though it does have a similar Version Number OK?
15.4,2272.3911 which is keyed to the Chrome browser sub version of the same Number Normally Lagging 1 or 2 minor versions behind
The current (Windows 7) Machine is using 15.6.2311.5029
But as its Slim line and Fast (and borrows off the Opera browser too) You needn't worry your head over this Point...Just update it every 6 months or so it. They in my opinion have it tuned just right without adding unwanted features :)
Building ...On this result/success I expect it to install just as good up to Windows 10 too? :)
PS I think this is what I have on Windows 7 There is an option on the settings to display the Browser in the Classic interface...Non animated Wallpaper and rearranged "Tab/Home" page?
NB There is no Homepage on Yandex.Browser! Instead click a box on the New Tab "Tableau" page (Can make up to 15! Custom Boxes)>I have 10 Made up...clone of Opera's "Speed Dial" feature.
