Like most here we have had our share of phone pests of various kinds, but today's was a first.
Sat down to breakfast just before 8am this morning and about to cut me little soldiers up when the phone rang.
Could this be Dell telling me the new laptop is on it's way? Was it hell!
A young lady wished to discuss a funeral plan for us both which would be most beneficial to the family.
Practical? Yes, but howway lass, at 8 o'clock in the morning and not even had breakfast?
So, politely I declined to listen which in itself was a first without the strong language and went back to the breakfast table.
I recall my Mother, Bless Her, paying for her funeral with the Coop and had the lounge carpet renewed and fitted all free of charge. She got good use out of that carpet for 10 years before she passed away.
Now I wonder, is this our time to be reminded we are getting on a bit and can be called at some ungodly hour to listen to a sales pitch?
