Update desktop advice

Packard Bell
Win 7 Home premium 64bit
Intel Quad processor Q8300
Nvidia geforce GT 220 102Gb
1Tb HDD
6Gb DDR2 memory

Since upgrading to Win 10,my desktop seems a lot slower.C: drive has 258Gb free and the D: (data) drive has 458Gb free.
I could not initially download Win 10,and read a solution,to use Mini tool partition.Which I did.And successfully downloaded Win 10.Could this have caused the slow down..????
Many thanks
