I dont know where you get your recommendations for your best buys list? However I would like to nominate the "Vodafone smart ultra 6" as being a best buy! I was after a new phone due to mine starting to struggle with battery life. "samsung Galaxy Note 2"

I have been using for a few days now & find it excellent at everything I do with it! Hard to get used to no actual physical button in the middle, like Apple or samsung. But I downloaded an app called screen off, I find that great for switching screen off rather than finding the actual button on the side. double tap gets the screen on!
At £125 to buy outright i think it is my best purchase in years!
