The thread is simple, in order to make GFW a success, which 20 free agent Wrestlers should they sign?
SINGLES
1 - CM Punk
Not saying they will sign him, but Punks contract with WWE will end soon adn I do not see him going back. He will be the hottest free agent in Pro Wrestling when that time comes and GFW should move heaven and earth to make sure he signs with them.
2 - Mick Foley
Another huge name here. Recently rejected a WWE contract which makes me feel he may have spoken to Jarrett already. Mick is desperate to be involved in front of the cameras and a commissioner role and the odd match here and there would work well for GFW.
3 - AJ Styles
The face of TNA for many years and under Jarretts watch, AJ became the star of that particular company. AJ Styles would be a great addition to the roster and a fued with Punk would be great for hardcore fans along with some casual.
4 - John Morrison
A really solid mid carder who could easily be a main eventer in GFW. Not entirely blessed with charisma but is fantastic to watch in the ring. Has a good solid name from his time in WWE.
5 - Chris Masters
I really liked his first run in WWE. He had a making of a really good mid/main event heel but sadly he took the wrong path. He came back and was really under utilised. Has a great look, is no sluch in the ring (for a big man) and can talk when he is in 'heel mode'. Would make a great heel for the GFW roster.
6 - Matt Hardy
A lot of the IWC won't like this but I believe Matt Hardy is another must on name alone. If TNA goes tits up or Jeff Hardy wants out then having Matt in the promotion is surely a good thing as far as negotiations go!
7 - Ken Shamrock
Old Ken is desperate to get back into 'the biz'. Maybe Jarrett should hand him an olive branch and see where his head is at. I like Shamrock, has name value and can draw in fans.
8 - Mistico
It didn't work out in WWE. But no promotion ever got by from not having 'high flyers' and if Mistico can go back to his Mexican days, where he was a STAR and do the stuff that WWE noticed in him then a another one I think GFW should look at. Also links the 'Hispanic market' to the product.
9 - Prince Devitt
I don't know a lot about this guy but he is very popular over in Japan and WWE have been linked with his name in recent years.
10 -Colt Cabana
I don't know much about this guy as a casual fan but he could be the key in to getting Punk into the promotion.
11 - Christopher Daniels
Experienced wrestler who Jarrett will know very well. Can put on some great matches.
12 - Zeke Jackson
The roster needs a big man. They don't come much bigger than Big Zeke. Would make a solid heel.
13 & 14 - Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin - Motor City Machine Guns
I never watched a lot of TNA but I caught Shelley and Sabin a few times and think these guys were brilliant to watch. A tag division from the off is probably the toughest division to get over but with a nucleus of 4/5 strong teams that are recognizable this can certainly aid.
15 & 16 - Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas - The Worlds Greatest Tag Team
A criminally under rated team by WWE. I think when Benjamin and Haas were lost in the mid card shuffle they should have put them back together. Both are great athletes and work better as a Tag Team.
17 & 18 - The Briscoe Brothers
I would be lying if I said I had seen lots of these but stated by a lot of wrestling fans as the best in the tag team business. They don't really name any name value at this stage but with other solid tag teams and the right platform they could.
19 & 20 - Ted Dibiase Jr and Brett Dibiase - The Dibiase's'
Ted a decent run in WWE a few years and primed to be a star. Sadly it didn't go to plan but he is a solid mid carder and someone I feel can help GFW. Put him in a stable with his brother and see where it goes.
I have probably missed some big Indie stars of this list, but these guys do not draw. They need a solid platform and the rub of working with real stars who have made it in order to get to where they want to be. Names like Kevin Steen, Chris Hero etc will not draw in casual fans as the majority have never heard of them. These guys should come later when GFW is established better...
