• To have John Cena vs. The Undertaker at WM31
• To have John Cena beat The Undertaker
But of course, they can't have Cena beat the streak. He would be instantly hated forever.
So instead, they had Brock beat Taker, get some heel heat, and then lose to Cena at SummerSlam. So by the time Taker comes back, he says he wants redemption, but not against Brock, but against the guy who beat him, John Cena. So Cena gets to beat Taker at Mania, without actually hurting the WWE Universe's precious streak.
