copying a dvd

I have a DVD which I recorded myself and which plays OK in my DVD player and displays on my TV.
I want to make a copy for someone but it will not register on my PC so I cannot use AVC or Media Player to do so.
Is there any other way to copy a DVD ?
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate.:confused:
