IMPACT Wrestling LD for 07.03.14 — EY Takes on The Destroyer [NO SPOILERS!]

Live Discussion for July 3rd, 2014

The longest reigning World Champion is finally back in TNA!

The "It Factor" Bobby Roode made his triumphant return to TNA last

week after a 35-day suspension, being formally reinstated by the

new Executive Director of TNA, Kurt Angle.

Dixie Carter and MVP are out of power. Lashley defeated Eric Young for

the World Championship – and EY is awaiting is rematch, which will happen

tonight on IMPACT at 9/8c. Roode isn’t just celebrating his return, he’s

clearly hungry and looking to climb back to the top of TNA.

Currently joining EY and Austin Aries in their fight against Team MVP,

the “It Factor” of professional wrestling made it known that he feels he

was sent home because he was a threat for the World Title. With that on

his mind, one has to imagine that Roode has his eyes on getting another

shot at the gold – but when will he make his move?

Don’t miss his official return to IMPACT tonight at 9/8c on Spike TV!

With his background as a wrestler, MVP was viewed as being a friend to the

locker room, understanding what it was like to be in their shoes. He gave

an up-and-coming tag team like The Wolves an opportunity to win the Tag Team

World Championship and a wrestling journeyman like Eric Young the opportunity

of a lifetime to challenge and win the World Heavyweight Championship.

But sadly over time, MVP's real intentions became known. He was not acting in

the best interest of the roster or the company -- he wanted to consolidate all

the power, including the World Championship, for himself.

But like so many powerful people, MVP fell victim to his own hubris and the TNA

Board of Directors forced him to abdicate his reign and replaced him with the

Olympic Gold Medalist and NEW Executive Director of TNA, Kurt Angle.

So what happens now? Does MVP fall in line behind Kurt Angle's leadership and try

to legitimately earn his way back for a shot at the title? Or like Napolean, will

he use his exile to plot his return to power? Now that Lashley is champion, does

he even need MVP anymore?
One thing is for sure, we will find out tomorrow on

Spike TV during #IMPACTLive .

New Executive Director Kurt Angle made it official this past week, and this

Thursday will see the TNA World Heavyweight Championship rematch that fans have

been waiting for! Lashley will defend his title against the man who he won it

from, “Showtime" Eric Young.

What to watch for here is how the dynamic of this match will change from the

previous meeting between the two men. With MVP out of power, he can no longer

sway the odds of the bout into Lashley’s favor. After a grueling match two weeks

ago, it was MVP’s influence that ultimately helped Lashley get the victory.

However, it is important to remember the poor condition of Eric Young this past

week on IMPACT . With an injured arm and taking another beatdown at the hands of

MVP’s posse, will “Showtime" have enough in the tank or is he a sitting duck,

waiting to be be conquered by the man that MVP has labeled “The Destroyer”?

One thing is for sure, these two men have the hearts of champions and will

certainly deliver an incredible match for us, the fans, this Thursday!

Bully Ray will battle EC3 in a Tables Match! Can Bully get his revenge on Dixie

Carter's nephew and finally put him through a table AND end his winning streak?
