UFC Fight Night

If anyone is watching it discuss here.

NXT Takeover

NXT Takeover was a special WWE NXT event that took place on May 29, 2014. It was the second of this type of event following NXT Arrival on February 27, 2014. If you have not seen this show already, I recommend it (as well as NXT Arrival!) as it was a great showcase of talent for the future stars of WWE. Here are the matches from this show:

1. Camacho VS Adam Rose in a singles match

2. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) VS El Local and Kalisto in a tag team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship

3. Sami Zayn VS Tyler Breeze in a singles match to determine the number one contender to the NXT Championship

4. Charlotte (with Ric Flair) VS Natalya (with Bret Hart) in a singles match for the NXT Women's Championship

5. Tyson Kidd VS Adrian Neville in a singles match for the NXT Championship

I really enjoyed this event, especially the title matches. My favorite was the NXT Championship main event. I really liked in particular the inclusion of Flair and Hart in the corners of Charlotte and Natalya respectively in the divas match, that gave the match an even bigger feel. Kidd VS Neville as well as Zayn VS Breeze stole the show. My least favorite match was probably Camacho VS Rose. Every other match was just better, but that's more on Camacho than on Rose. Camacho sucks. Despite that, highly enjoyable show. I can't wait for the next one of these events!

What are your thoughts on this show, did you like it? Why or why not?

Which match was your favorite, what about your least favorite? Why?

Summerslam 1994: A Retrospective Look

This summer I'll be looking back on each of the previous Summerslam events, one by one. Every few days I will submit a new topic until we reach 2014's edition of the 2nd biggest brand in WWE.

This thread will be for discussing.... Summerslam 1994!

Summerslam 1994 took place on August 29, 1994. It was held at United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Here are the results of the matches from this show:

0. Adam Bomb defeated Kwang in a singles match

1. Irwin R. Schyster and Bam Bam Bigelow (with Ted DiBiase) defeated The Headshrinkers (Fatu and Samu) (with Afa and Lou Albano) by disqualification in a tag team match (07:20)

2. Alundra Blayze (c) defeated Bull Nakano (with Luna Vachon) in a singles match for the WWF Women's Championship (08:10)

3. Razor Ramon (with Walter Payton) defeated Diesel (c) (with Shawn Michaels) in a singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship (15:03)

4. Tatanka defeated Lex Luger in a singles match (06:02)

5. Jeff Jarrett defeated Mabel (with Oscar) in a singles match (05:45)

6. Bret Hart (c) defeated Owen Hart in a Steel Cage match for the WWF Championship (32:22)

7. The Undertaker [Mark Calaway] (with Paul Bearer) defeated The Undertaker [Brian Lee] (with Ted DiBiase) in a singles match (08:57)

Now, here are some discussion questions concerning the event:

What was your favorite match on this show, and why did you like it the most? What about the worst match of this show, why did you like it the least?

If you could change a few things about Summerslam 1994, what would it be and why?

You may only use wrestlers who were available at the roster at that time or make changes that could have realistically taken place in August 1994. Please keep in mind the situations going into the show such as who could actually have been pushed into a title match, or what songs existed back then if you wanted to change the show's theme music, and so forth.

You may only discuss Summerslam 1994 in this thread. The remaining Summerslam events will be getting their own retrospective threads, any posts regarding other events will be considered spam and you risk getting an infraction.

Do the new characters that have been created have longevity?

First things first, I do not mean the wrestlers portraying these characters I mean the characters in general. How much longevity do these characters have?

Alexander Rusev - Anti - American, pro Russia. We see these short-lived characters every 10 years or so. Once America gets bored with the Putin hate, then Rusev disappears. How does he recover?

Adam Rose - I hate this gimmick as it is, but, how long can he keep portraying a party boy? I guess he can recover by saying he has sobered up, and hates the fun life, turning into a Steven Richards "Right To Censor" type gimmick.

Bo Dallas - I am a "Bo-liever" I just don't bolieve that this gimmick can go on forever, and I don't see him going any further past this gimmick, based on his brief run in the big leagues last year.

Wyatt Family - How long can this cult gimmick go on? I hope forever, but it seems these days that Bray is just saying the same thing over and over about Cena. What happens to Bray when the fans go quiet?

My question is obviously how long can these gimmicks last? Also, what becomes of the superstars portraying these characters when it is time to pull the plug?

Prestige for Mid-Card Belts?

Seems that in recent weeks there has been an "elevation" in how the IC and US Belts have been discussed. On one hand you have the belts being contended for more regularly, and just last night you had Cole asking Heyman about which mid-card belt had more prestige (nice to refer to them as having any prestige at all), we have seen more vignettes about the history of the belts (mostly the IC) and last night Kofi had his pre-match graphic discussing how he beat Cesaro for the US belt last year and how he would use his match against him Friday to start his journey back to the US Title (Haven't seen anyone actually come out and say they have desired either of these in that way in a while).

All that being said, do you think this is an actual trend that will continue where more import is placed on these belts (and hopefully the tag belts as well), especially considering the Main Event belts are unified. Or, do you think this is just another blip on the radar and they will go back to being the afterthought they have been through recent history?

Payback vs. Game of Thrones

So who is going to be watching Payback tonight and who is going to be watching "The Mountain vs. The Viper"??

I'll definitely be watching Game of Thrones. That card is terrible. The most interesting one is Big E/Rusev, and we all know how that's ending.

So what will you be watching?

Stone Cold! Stone Cold! STONE COLD! Plus An Announcement.

Steve Austin has defeated The Rock in the finals of the 8th Annual WrestleZone Tournament with a final score of 62-29. This is Austin's third win, as he is still the only person to win multiple tournaments.

Thank you all for participating and thank you all for making this tournament a success. We'll be back next year for the ninth edition, but this year things are going to be different.

Sometime around August, we're bringing back the WrestleZone TAG TEAM Tournament. A group of teams will battle it out in a straightforward tournament (meaning no gimmicks) to determine the greatest team of all time. Make sure to join in and start brushing up now.

My Breakfast with Blassie

This is a large part of wrestling history, it involves Freddie Blassie and Andy Kaufman.

Want something good?! Here's what should happen at Payback.

I know that there's a lot of you guys who feel underwhelmed by the card setup for Payback. I'm not expecting "PPV of the year" or anything, but this card raises one question - Can I expect anything big to happen? Can I expect something that'll have people buzzing?. I can't answer that myself, but I've come up with something.

Now, we've heard for a while that there were rumors of Cesaro and Lesnar having a match together sometime in the future. If this is the plan, here's what I believe should happen.

At Payback, it'll be Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the U.S. Title. Have Cesaro lose to Sheamus, but not clean. Have Heyman "accidentally" cost Cesaro the match, but have him look strong in defeat. The match ends and Sheamus and Cesaro shake hands for putting on a good match. While they're shaking hands, Lesnar's music hits and out he comes. Heyman is surprised that his #1 client shows up and everyone is caught off guard. With Cesaro being fatigued from his match, Lesnar is going to want to come in and pick a fight with Cesaro, while he's in no condition to fight Lesnar.

Sheamus notices this and jumps on Cesaro's behalf and tries to back Lesnar off. A few moments later, Sheamus actually lets Lesnar have his way with Cesaro, making a heel turn. Sheamus doesn't care for Cesaro's well-being, so he leaves him to be beaten down by Lesnar. Sheamus walks away with a smirk on his face. Cesaro, down on the mat, then looks up to see that he's with Lesnar. Lesnar helps him up and then hits him with an F5. Paul Heyman doesn't know what to think.

Now for the build-up between Cesaro and Lesnar for SummerSlam, have Heyman and Cesaro get into discussions about what happened and Cesaro would ask Heyman who he's siding with on this. Heyman has been busy promoting Lesnar beating the streak for the weeks now, so that gives Cesaro a reason to start distrusting Heyman. He believes that Heyman is going to eventually side with his pet, Brock Lesnar.

Heyman assures that he's going to talk things out with him. While that's going on, Cesaro and heel Sheamus continue feuding, with Cesaro upset with how Sheamus left him high and dry. Sheamus cuts promos on how now, he doesn't care about anything but bringing relevance back to the U.S. Title and giving the people a champion that "They can appreciate".

Lesnar would then cut promos on Cesaro via satellite after his matches for a while, talking about how inferior Cesaro is compared to him and how he's a poor man's version of Lesnar. Cesaro not happy, gets on Heyman's ass about this. For weeks, Heyman shows his loyalty to Cesaro, but on the SummerSlam go-home edition of Raw, Heyman finally shows that he taking Lesnar's side and quits being Cesaro's manager, making Cesaro a babyface.

Then there you go - Cesaro vs. Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman and Cesaro moves on to bigger and better things after that.

What are your thoughts on these twists and turns that make the Cesaro-Lesnar build-up?

WZPC Payback

They say payback is a bitch, but I hear she is a nice lady. She's always willing to provide for her man. You know what I hear is a bitch? Hemorrhoids. Those suckers are the biggest bitch of them all. Back to Payback, that's on Sunday. CM Punk is going to come back or so a bunch of people are gonna say cause it is in the Windy City. But you can come and predict Payback. It is all here (http://ift.tt/1nNTIj6). Plus it is early in the season, so get some points, move up the ranks, and get yo'self some fake internet gold. Enjoy!

Tool documentary

No, not a video cataloguing saws, hammers and spanners or what have you but about those musical monkeys.

I'd never consider myself an expert on the band by any stretch of the imagination but its a nice documentary about the band's journey and talking to a reasonably small but well-chosen group of people that know the band members.

Is John Cena the only currently active guy who can make the WWEWHC relevant again?

Ok. Face it. Daniel Bryan as the champ has been a failure. Or atleast that he's been booked that way. But the fact remains that the WWEWHC has been very irrelevant in the recent times. People are more interested in the IC championship than in the WHC.

If u look at the recent history, you will find that the last time the championship was relevant was when Cena was feuding for it with the Rock. And before that when C M Punk was feuding with The Rock. I won't count the Orton-Bryan feud because that was more about proving to the Authority that he is an A+ player than about the Championship.

So now with Punk not around and the rest of the guys not ready enough, is putting Cena in the main event picture the better option??? Because seriously, you hate him or u love him, the guy does bring some legitimacy into the title picture.

The Entertainment Industry And What Is Deemed Risque

So recently the MPAA banned the Sin City poster with Eva Green on it

Click for Spoiler:

Personally I don't see what the big deal is about. Yes her breasts are partly exposed and you can (barely) make out a bit of nipple but she's not doing a sexual pose or anything.

I find this strange because you can easily find a public poster of Miley Cyrus licking a mirror/grinding on something. Or Katy Perry naked with convenient things covering parts of her body and various other pop stars doing similar things

My question is why does the entertainment industry have a lopsided, flip flop way of looking at images (especially of women) that may be deemed arousing/sexual. It seems perfectly acceptable to have a pop star (who's main audience are teenagers) partly nude, doing a sexual pose on a big board. But when a poster has a women wearing a gown with a bit of exposed breast showing for a film that is for adults that's to much??

The Hardyz in 2014

It's still real to Jeff Hardy, damn it!

For two guys who were in pretty bad shape a couple years ago they seem to have done well to get themselves together and to be doing this "tour" angle. For those who don't know they wrestled The Briscoes in a match that allowed The Briscoes from ROH face Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy from TNA, in The Hardy's promotion OMEGA, and it drew like 1,500 people or something, which is very good. So now they're wrestling The Young Bucks in July and Jeff seems to have permission from TNA to wrestle wherever he wants on the indies (obviously within reason). It's kind of cool to see them back together again and wrestling some new age teams.

IF the KLIQ had been the original NWO members

Just spit balling an idea. Let's say in the land of oz that Vince had been so irate with the Curtain Call Incident that he found some reason to get rid of Michaels and HHH after the incident and/or Bischoff wooed HHH and Michaels over with Billionaire Ted's money (entirely possible). In the case of HHH, let's say that WCW convinced him to come back over after his uneventful stint the first time.

Even before the era of the Internet Wrestling Community the Curtain Call Incident was widely publicized in all the wrestling magazines. Or let's say that Bischoff bit the bullet and decided to suffer the legal ramifications of airing the house show footage of the Curtain Call Incident. Capitalizing fully on the curtain call incident could have been massive for WCW during the Monday night wars.

I think this group would have had more on air chemistry than what you saw with the NWO as is and may have been a more sustainable product in the long run. All 4 wrestlers were still relatively young and could still give off the appearance of being anti-tradition and as an altogether separate organization from WCW, and the WWF.

How it could have been booked. Roughly the same. I would have Hall, and HHH as the initial invaders.

Bash at the Beach: Goes down the same but with Nash as the third mystery man (granted this is not as climatic).

The NWO forms and introduces DiBiase as their financer as an independent entity. The group begins their attacks on the WCW, Dungeon of Doom, and The Horsemen.

War Games: Michaels is the mystery man and as a complete outsider to the company would probably get a bigger reaction than the two Stings. Somehow through handcuffs or whatever illegal means the NWO wins War Games. After the desolation of team WCW/Horsemen the Horsemen come to the rescue but are attacked with weapons, and eventually even the Dungeon. Michaels the NWO cut a lengthy promo post match laying the groundwork for what they're going to do. War Games ends roughly with the Dungeon, Horsemen, and NWO all going at each others throats at the camera fades. This lays the groundwork for the next couple of months of gang wars style battles between the three groups that establishes the NWO as the top stable.

Halloween Havoc: Leading up to Havoc the NWO acquires Syxx and continue their antics attacking The Horsemen, WCW, and Dungeon of Doom. The shift turns toward the World title, Michaels bills himself as the Giant killer and wins the belt from The Giant at Halloween Havoc. The Dungeon of Dooms dissolves.

World War 3: The next month is much the same with the NWO's focus now on The Horsemen. Flair and The Horsemen vow to win for the WCW and tradition and become dirty faces in their efforts against the NWO but consistently get one-upped by them. Flair wrestles Michaels for the World title at World War 3. The NWO attempt a run in but are halted by The Horsemen. Finally The Giant emerges, but choke slams Flair and joina the NWO. During the 3 ring battle royal, Hogan emerges as the 60th man and wins the match to face Michaels at Starrcade.

Starrcade: Several grudge matches are on the card. HHH wrestles Luger. Syxx and Benoit. The Giant wrestles the Macho Man. Sting wrestles Nash. Flair wrestles Hall. The Main Event could get either way, if Michaels beats Hogan than the NWO can take credit for killing Hulkamania. If Hogan beats Michaels than you have a climatic, but expected ending with the face winning out in a traditional Starrcade fashion. If Hogan loses his image has to be revamped in some way. If Michaels loses he has to get the belt back at some point.

Souled Out: The NWO get their first PPV. Sting steps up is slated to wrestle Michaels in a no DQ match. The NWO end up dismantling Sting and Michaels breaks his back with the Scorpion Deathlock. This puts Sting on hiatus for several months and gives time for the Crow gimmick to evolve and come to fruition with Sting beating Michaels cleanly at Starrcade 97.

After Starrcade 1997 I would have wrapped the NWO storyline up because WCW needed to begin transitioning their midcarders like Benoit, Jericho, and Eddie into the main event to become a more sustainable promotion.

Pros:

HHH-was largely punished after the Curtain Call Incident. His career was fruitless until late 1997. Despite his IC title run, his gimmick was stupid and he was squashed by the Ultimate Warrior. We would have seen him evolve quickly his charismatic persona he had with DX would have been demonstrated faster during the invasion angle.

Hogan: Would not have played as large of a role in the company during this time. What to do with Hogan during this time would have been difficult to foresee. He demanded main event status but his time as the face of the company needed to begin winding down and this would have solved that issue. If Hogan loses at Starrcade to Michaels, then he and Savage could have made a decent team outside of the NWO with a slightly grittier gimmick. The Hollywood and NWO turn injected a lifeline in Hogan in many ways to keep as the face of wrestling.

Michaels: Difficult to say if this would have been the best career move for him. He would have came to the WCW with strong reaction after winning at WrestleMania and becoming the WWF champion and later the WCW champion in the same year. Michaels would be easily be the biggest name in wrestling with his two title runs and leadership of the NWO.

NWO: The NWO was great as it was. However, I think the on air chemistry with The KLIQ would have been even better.

Bret Hart: The Dark Horse of the argument. Hart came to WCW during the prime of his career. I would think in all likelihood he would have still ended up there (depending on Michaels). If so, a Bret Hart versus NWO Michaels would have been gold.

Cons:

Backstage Politics: Would have been at a fever pitch between what the KLIQ allegedly attempted and the clout of the veteran superstars with large contracts. However, they may all have ended up keeping each other in check.

Hogan: Most would agree that the NWO needed Hogan. This may very be true. Personally I think the angle allowed him to linger at the top longer and the Outsiders could have worked without him, especially if they were the KLIQ members.

Time Limits in Matches

So, if you're a listener to JR's podcast, you might of heard him talking about having time limits in matches. He would talk quite a bit about it and how it can help and I have to admit, I agree with everything he says on the matter. Now at this point, it would be impossible for the WWE to impose time limits in matches, as it would just stick out at this point. But the real question is "Would you preferred to have time limits in the first place?" Here are some of the positives that would come from it.

1) It would give the wrestler's a solid time to aim for, helping them plan out the match a lot better.

2) Time limit draws gives a new result to matches.

3) It could reduce the number of matches ending in DQs.

4) It would make match lengths more believeable (because at the moment there's still the floating possibility of having the first match last the entire show).

What do you guys think? I like it, because it makes me think of things like Rocky. Where Apollo Creed destroys people in the first few rounds but then Rocky takes him to the limit! They could something like that. Plus, a match ending in a draw, I like the idea of. I know Americans HATE draws, but I think seeing two guys beat up, standing there with their 20 minutes up, shaking hands would be a cool thing.

The matches at WrestleMania 31

WrestleMania 30 was a great show, but it set a dark precedent. There were only 4 straight up matches on the show: Brock/Taker, Cena/Wyatt, Bryan/Orton and the Triple Threat. The rest were big multi-person matches, designed to get a lot of people on the show. They implied heavily that the Andre Battle Royal will be returning next year, quite possibly with even more participants.

So, who do you think will get the privilege of working the straight up matches?

I think there are four safe picks, which are based on the ones we got last year.

1. Brock Lesnar's Match:

He's being hyped up so hard after beating Undertaker, that I think it's almost certain he'll be entering main eventing the show, whether or not he has the WWE title. His most possibly opponents are:

(a) Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan

(b) Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock

(c) Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

(d) Brock Lesnar vs. Cesaro

(e) Brock Lesnar vs. Batista

2. John Cena's match:

Now, John Cena could very well be the one sparring with Brock Lesnar in the main event. But I think they'll probably save him for his own match. I really doubt they'd put him up against any of the 3 Evolution members again at WrestleMania, but WWE has never shied away from rehashing old material. If he were to rematch with anybody, I'm thinking it would be:

(a) John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (with the Bellas in each corner)

(b) John Cena vs. Cesaro

(c) John Cena vs. CM Punk

It looks like they've been avoiding Cena/Roman for the past year-and-a-half though, so it John Cena vs. Roman Reigns is also a strong possibility.

3. Batista's Match

With Batista's Hollywood celebrity taking off in the summer, I doubt they'll dump him into a big multi-man match at Mania. I bet he won't stand for it. That means he'll be working some sort of match. I think that of all the possible I mentioned above, Batista will get the leftovers. If Brock faces Roman, Batista faces Bryan. If Brock faces Bryan, Batista faces Roman. Of course, if both Brock and Cena take both of them, that leaves Batista to turn face and go at it with Randy Orton *shrug*.

(a) Batista vs. Roman Reigns

(b) Batista vs. Daniel Bryan

(c) Batista vs. Randy Orton

4. Triple H's Match:

This one is the hardest to pinpoint. I think that if CM Punk comes back, a worked shoot feud with Triple H is the way to go, but then again, that's what pissed CM Punk off in the first place. I'm guessing that Triple H will try and put over someone else at WrestleMania. People say that he's lost his ego, but with such a huge roster nowadays, it's a big deal to just have a singles match on the card. The fact that he'll be taking up a spot where we could have seen Seth vs. Dean instead, is cringe-worthy, in my opinion. But then again, he had a fantastic match with Bryan at Mania, so I won't complain too much. Now, who he can face is anyone's guess, but I doubt it will be Batista, Orton, Cena, Brock or Bryan, as he's already faced them all. That leaves:

(a) Triple H vs. CM Punk

(b) Triple H vs. Roman Reigns

(c) Triple H vs. Cesaro

(d) Triple H vs. Bray Wyatt

(e) Triple H vs. Sami Zayn (dark horse I know, but Bray debuted with a skyrocket up his ass last year, they could easily do that for Sami this year.)

--------------------

I'm leaning towards this card: Brock/Bryan, Cena/Cesaro, Triple H/Roman and Batista/Orton. That's gonna leave tons of people shoved into a bunch of multi-man matches.

Sheamus, Dolph, Del Rio, Seth, Ambrose, Bo, Bray and many others who deserve matches on the card are probably going to be left in the Andre Battle Royal along with quite possibly 40 other participants. If Punk or Rock, or both, come back, that's gonna leave Roman and Cesaro out as well, as I can't see Orton and Batista shoved down the card.

I think The Wyatt Family vs. Evolution would be a great idea if the Wyatts turn face. But I don't know if Batista, Orton and Triple H will be okay with six-man-tagging at WrestleMania. They've been doing it at the lesser PPVs, but I don't know how long that will last.

WWE could surprise us with a 5th singles match, but I think it's unlikely. Cody vs. Goldust, Seth vs. Dean, Rey vs. Sin Cara and plenty others sound like money midcard matches, but the fact that they are midcard matches means they're off the show.

WrestleMania doesn't do midcard anymore.

How many new things can you do?

Alright, I recently read the latest editorial by Mark Madden and the base of that was that we want new ideas. We want fresh ideas, fresh stuff, different angles, things that we haven't seen before. And I agree, obviously, who wants to see the same product that we have seen not just a week ago but also 15 years ago.

The solution that is offered here is for the currect creative to be fired and someone like Jim Ross, Heyman, Jericho etc be in charge of it, without the family being over the shoulders all the time. I also tend to agree here. There minds are perfect for pro wrestling because they indeed live and breathe pro wrestling.

But here comes the kicker. What is there left that is new and exciting? The past couple of years, WWE tried the dancing gimmicks. They tried it with Fandango, who got an incredible reaction for the first months, then he was moved to a mid-card-jobbing kind of guy, leading to his reaction to become dead. That's why we need another dancing gimmick, right? But I digress. The point here is that the WWE, intentionally or not, tried to create something different, but it didn't catch up. Over the years, we have gotten Authority storylines, superhero storylines, villains being on top, people stealing others' girlfriends and I could go on for days. Is there anything new that can be done?

I can't see that. Everything has been done in the past in some way. Sure, you might be able to change it up a little bit (Shield) but the base concept remains there and it has been done before. Bryan got the Austin-rebel character, while HHH was VKM#2. Punk was kind of a new guy with his pipebomb gimmicks, but its roots go back to Austin and his anti-authority gimmick. So, when someone says that we need original ideas, new stuff, fresh gimmicks, what exactly are they proposing? I'd like to hear those ideas from you guys, because frankly I can't think of many new gimmicks/storylines etc.

While no one is asking you to write the novelesque essays that you might see other users tend to write when posting more in-depth threads, we do ask that you actually formulate a concise point when you post. While one-dimensional threads aren't necessarily against the rules, the more compelling and detailed your post, the better the quality of discussion it's likely to garner, so please keep that in mind before you post a new thread here.

Another thing to note is that again while we're not asking you to be grammatical champions, spelling & grammar are an important aspect of the posting process with regard to just how compelling your thread can really be. If you post a thread about a topic, for example, that a lot of users would normally want to talk about but write the entire thing out as one long run-on sentence, never use punctuation or capitalization, etc. very few will actually read it, and far fewer will respond as a result. While I'm not discouraging you in any way from posting, I am asking that you actually formulate your thoughts in a cohesive manner that's presentable enough to be understood by the rest of us reading the forum.

Rules:

==================================

* This is a TNA exclusive section.
Make sure that if you make a thread, it's primarily about TNA or TNA talent. Otherwise you may receive an infraction for posting in the wrong section.

* Stick to the topic. If the topic talks about Eric Young's title reign, talk about Eric Young's title reign. If the thread talks about TNA taping somewhere talk about where it's taping. Don't go on tangents about how to fix issues when that's clearly not what the thread is about. That's spamming.

* Threads or posts regarding potential foreclosure of TNA are strictly forbidden and will be dealt with an infraction.

Unless a moderator or administrator approves of it via PM first. Despite all the alleged corporate issues TNA has it still airs consistent, internationally televised content. So there is PLENTY of other topics worth discussing. Not to mention the pessimism the topic drags in. So we ask that you steer away from that dead horse.

* Fantasy Booking = NO. You think you're the first person to ask what would be your fantasy TNA roster? How you'd book an angle? How you'd fix TNA? Not to mention there's nothing worth discussing there at all. It's just a list. Go to the Book This section. Book it there.

==================================

Tips & Tricks:
==================================

* Be creative with your thread topics. Try to be more “outside the box” than asking for favorite TNA gimmick match or if they should do a tournament or something. Talk about a particular aspect of the company or a wrestler. Or a current feud and why you like it or how it's different from everything else on TV.

* Detail your opening post. Don't just ask “What do you think”? It's a discussion forum. Asking that is redundant. Instead you should give your own detailed opinion on your own question. It'll give other posters something more concrete to talk about and will generate more replies.

* When in doubt, ask the mods. I may act like a jerk at times, but I'm always open to honest question about what topics to post about and such. The staff is open and will direct you accordingly.

* Grammar. Come on. Show that all the time you spend in school isn't a waste. If you wanna be seen as a smart person, you gotta show you're a smart person. You can't do that by mangling the English language.

* Have fun. It's just a product after all. No reason to scream bloody murder over something you don't like. We're just here to discuss, debate and let our opinions out.

That's what this thread is for – if you don't care to formulate your points into a more concise and debatable form so they fit the no-spam policies of this site, post them here, however please understand that this is still a no-spam thread, which means even if your complaints are generally directionless, you'll still need to back-up your points with at least one reason.

For example, if your issue is TNA's booking...

Post A

Quote:

Oh my god , TNA sucks. They have the worst fucking booking. This company should just fold.

Post B

Quote:

Oh my god, TNA sucks. They have the worst fucking booking. This Sting deception angle is terrible – how am I supposed to support this as a fan? It makes no sense! Just let Sting be a face again like everyone wanst him to be and quit trying to force this crap of him as a heel on us, please? God, sometimes I think this company should just fold.

In this case, a post like the one in Post A is SPAM, and the post in Post B is not. Anyone posting something like Post A will still receive a warning or infraction for it – whichever applies in your case.

FAQ

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Are spoilers OK to post?

A: No, they are not. Spoilers are forbidden on these forums – no ifs ands or buts about it. The definition of a spoiler is simple, too – anything you give away about a match, debut, hiring, firing, etc. that hasn't actually aired yet. This is typically for the taped episodes of iMPACT!, but is not limited to it as TNA has also added Xplosion (or will be) and ReAction of late. Bottom line – do not post spoilers, or you will be warned/infracted as a result.

Q: Why is my thread title different?

A: The title of your thread is what gets people to click on it or not – if it's confusing, misleading or not enticing enough, the thread suffers as a result. I will clean these titles up from time-to-time, and merged topics will take on the parent title, so please understand this if your title is adjusted. Think of it like cutting the grass or trimming the hedges for a more presentable look.

--

Q: I don't see a thread about a match at the next TNA PPV, can I make one of my own?

A: Yes you can. That is if you can beat Will or myself to it. For whatever reason, if a match is announced (and is not a spoiler), and there is no thread for it – you are more than welcome to post it yourself. Making a poll on the match outcome is optional, but not required.

--

Q: "SO AND SO" debuted on iMPACT! – what's the protocol on making a thread about him or her?

A: Encouraged practice, presuming you make the thread after iMPACT! airs, and provided you create a worthy discussion over it. General thoughts on a debut are OK, but the more you have behind the post, the better you make us look for it.

Swagger WHC: Did he have the "It" factor?

Jack Swagger won the WHC the first Smackdown after WrestleMania 26. But why? Is it possible that WWE truly believed he was next in line, that they had to catch lightening in a bottle? Did his ECW Title reign blow away backstage officials? Did I miss something? What could have happened backstage that led to Swagger seizing the title?

Not only did Swagger become champion, but he went on to score victories over Edge and Jericho (triple threat), John Morrison, and Randy Orton. That is a massive push.

Here's the thread topic:

From a business standpoint, from a marketing standpoint, or from an "It" factor standpoint, what qualities did Swagger possess in 2010 to warrant such standing? Maybe he didn't possess any. Thoughts?

How to possibly book Swagger VS Rusev

I hope I get it in the right forum this time. I know people have said this before, and maybe thought of this same scenario, but how to book Swagger to turn face and go up against Rusev? Well, there's talk of Hulk Hogan having the GM role, and if nothing else he at least shows up every now and then. Although it's taped on Tuesday, SmackDown will air on the 4th of July this year. Cliche, I know, but what if Hogan were to be on Smackdown, talking about how great America is and how good it is to be a real American etc etc. You know how Lana is doing the whole anti-American shtick? Again, I know this has been done before, but why not have Lana come out and interrupt Hogan, challenge him to a match, to which Hogan accepts. (He's not in great shape, but that doesn't matter.) This time, no typical Hogan beatdown and comeback, just beatdown. He's in the Accolade, Hogan taps out but Rusev just does not let go, to the point where Swagger runs down to save Hogan, the original Real American, thus turning face. They take it from there and Swagger drops Coulter and has Hogan in his corner at the PPV.

So what do you guys think? Anything you can add?

Am I wrong for thinking this way?

I had this simplitic thought earlier today about TNA Impact

In thinking about successfull award winning movies and TV shows of the past I realized something at its highest level.

Good movie/TV show =

Steamlines the story and its cohesive from start to finish regardless what catagory the movie is (Action, Comedy, etc) and normally the actors are playing the right roles.

Bad movie/TV show =

Too much going on, no real point to be made, no explaination.

OR the audience goes into a movie needing to have some kind of back ground to enjoy it.

****(Example ever been with your husband or wife to watch a sequal to a movie you had no interest in or saw the original movie to make sense of what was going on? and didn't enjoy it?)

Or they have the wrong actors in the wrong roles

****(Example: Would you want to see Arnold or Stallone in a chick flick? or would they be better suited in an action film?)

Well the latter "bad movie" has been TNA Impact lately IMO, they need to find a way to change it back to the "good movie" option. I realize its just an analogy I made up, but I hope you get the point.

I love TNA (Most of you all know that) but the last month or two have been dreadful, the show and audience appear bored on TV :( Impact is still a TV show but lacks the excitement feel that other sports shows or movie's show to give the people watching a reason to join in on the excitement.

************************************************** ************************************************** *********

Does my analogy fit the times right now? or am I wrong for thinking this way?

NOTE: This isn't a thread regarding "How to fix TNA" but how do you feel about the product recently? How do you like how its being potrayed on TV?

Rusev

So did they drop the Alexander part from Rusev? On Nxt tonight they referred to him only as Rusev. So is he the new next in line to be reduced to one name like Cesar and Big E (if thats 1 name)

Von Erich's to wrestle at TNA's Slammiversary

Quote:

- WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Von Erich and his sons Marshall and Ross will be attending TNA's June 15th Slammiversary pay-per-view from Dallas, Texas.

Marshall and Ross will be wrestling a tag team match. The brothers have been working for Pro Wrestling NOAH and will get to wrestle in front of their father on Father's Day. They will also be appearing at the fanfest that weekend.

Source: PWInsider

But what about Lacey!

That's so great for Kevin to see his sons wrestle on Father's Day....The Von Erich family tragedy is still probably the most heartbreaking tragedy in wrestling....All of the brothers should be alive today.

How do you feel about this? I think everyone wins with this deal.

IMPACT Wrestling 5/29/14 LD

Since it hasn't been started yet, I figured I'd get the discussion going. Who's checking the show out tonight?

Kings are off tonight so I'm in.

Did Hogan need a heel turn?

Most people talk about how big of a heel turn Hogan made, and several documentaries show Hogan as reluctant at first to make the heel turn at Bash at the Beach.

I have always been under the impression that WCW throughout the 80s and most of the 90s had a different fan base than the WWF, despite the two wanting to go head to head with one another. There were definite overlap in the areas that the two promotions did shows at, but for the most part WCW was the southern promotion or "wrasslin" characterized with more sense of kayfabe realism than what the WWF put out. Going back to the 80s when the Horsemen jumped Rhodes at a gas station and broke his hand this was on a different level than what the WWF was putting out at the time. Of course both promotions got more cartoonish as slumped around the 1995 mark with the Dungeon of Doom.

I think Hogan needed the heel turn to stay viable. He was brought into WCW and instantly made the face of the company. However, when I look at his match with Flair for the title, the crowd's reaction was never as loud as he got in the WWF, and that persisted throughout his real American gimmick in WCW. For whatever reason, be it the southern audience, or fans in general growing tired of his gimmick, it never seemed like face Hogan caught much steam.

Hogan would run out of steam as a face, but as a heel he revived his career.

Of course the times were changing as well. When I look back at the wrestlers I considered larger than life super heroes for their time I think of Sting, Hogan, Macho Man, and Warrior. Besides the Warrior's inconsistencies and unprofessionalism, I think one of the reasons The Warrior flopped in WCW was because came off no different as he looked in 1991 whereas his contemporaries had adopted (and gone black).

NXT Takeover LD

Because fuck it, this should have it's own LD. Anyone else tuning in?

Why CM Punk may or may not return at Payback

Sources lately have been pointing that CM Punk has no intention of going back to the WWE, and he's retired. However, we all know CM Punk, Triple H, and Vince McMahon are very clever with their storylines and how they do things when they want to. So I'm going to list out why or why not he may return and I'd like to see what the IWC think.

Reasons Why He'll Come back:

1) It's in Chicago, and it's been a few months, so he's had time to recover.

2) Triple H and Vince and Punk are very clever and they go all-in for storylines

3) There was rumors pointing towards a second "Summer Of Punk" so this would fit perfectly.

4) He could be saying he's not going back and he's retired just to throw us off.

5) They could offer him a Wrestlemania 31 Main Event.

6) He might want to be closer to his wife/fiance, Aj Lee.

Reasons Why He'll Stay Away:

1) His contract expires in like a month anyways

2) He didn't even come back for the Chicago RAW.

3) CM Punk is just overall pissed about the state of the WWE and the executive's decisions.

4) CM Punk could still be worn out and hurting from the recovery of his injuries.

5) He might just want to lay back and watch his babe wrestle, and hang with her outside of the WWE.

So with the points I layed out, do you find a Payback return possible, or is it just a dream of Punk's return? Or are you just hating Punk all together, I'd like to see/hear the voice of the IWC.

WWE's newest Power Couple.

The title and picture says it all. I'm a big fan of both Bad News Barrett and Paige so personally, I would love to see this. They could run the WWE as Intercontinental and Diva's Champion. Maybe this could even lead to a new British Stable being started. Have Adrian Neville brought up to the main roster and join them eventually.

My questions for you guys are;

1. Would you want Barrett and Paige to team up?

2. Should Barrett go face or should Paige go heel?

3. Would you expand the stable or stick with just them as a couple?

Thanks for reading!

The Stone Cold vs Eddie Guerrero feud that never happened

Back in 2002 slightly after Wrestlemania 18 the WWE re-hired Eddie Guerrero back to the company after releasing him a year earlier. Around this same time WWE megastar Stone Cold Steve Austin was having his own problems with the WWE behind the scenes. Stone Cold was out of the WWE title picture. But heading into the summer Stone Cold was thrown into a feud with ring veteran Eddie Guerrero. They had segments that would lead up to their match-up at that years King of the Ring pay per-view. Like the famous bar brawl on RAW where Eddie struck Austin in the back with a beer. This match-up with Stone Cold Steve Austin would have done further wonders for Eddy Guerrero's career. But around that time...Austin had walked on the WWE.

Eddie Guerrero was pissed about the news and the WWE had Ric Flair replace Stone Cold in the feud with Eddie. Ric Flair was passes his prime even before his days in Evolution. So Eddie Guerrero really couldn't benefit from this feud with Flair. So if Steve Austin didn't "Take his ball and go home" so to speak. What could have been the outcome of this feud between Austin and Eddy Guerrero?

One More Time

Wanderlei Silva ran away from drug testing and from Chael Sonnen. Release him from the UFC now. With Wanderlei running away it would seem Vitor has stepped up to the challenge. Chael Sonnen will defeat Vitor Belfort and therefore become the number one contender for the Middleweight Championship. Weidman vs. Sonnen sounds good but Machida vs. Sonnen is the real fight.

Fourth time's a charm.

Report: Tyson Kidd to get Major Gimmick Change?

http://ift.tt/RFihCq

Jack-Hammer did post a thread regarding a possible repackaging of Tyson Kidd some time ago. Again, this one is saying he could possibly be repackaged as a Masked Luchadore.

It is something I suggested before. Obviously, I don't see him getting beyond the MidCard in any case, as he is already around 33/34 years old and I can't see a Masked Luchadore character challenging for the Main title anytime soon, unless the character is way over and a believable challenger.

If this is done, I am looking forward to seeing how WWE carry out the change of gimmicks, as the fans of today won't let him off without regular Tyson chants regardless of the presence of a Mask.

Marvel's Ant-Man

Have you guys heard of Edgar Wright leaving Ant-Man? He supposedly bailed after they rewrote his script. Who do you guys think is to blame?

And on a related note, are you looking forward to the movie? Who would you like to see direct it now?

TNA Does It Better

There's a lot of bashing TNA around here every day, but TNA keeps me coming every single week. That means there has to be stuff there that they do, and I'd say does it better than WWE in some ways. Here are some of them.

1. The women. While the Divas are presented as serious competitors and usually bomb in the ring, the Knockouts are often treated as sexy and skilled in the ring, which they usually are to a much better extent than their WWE counterparts. Also, they're more than capable of having a five minute match without things falling apart in front of your eyes.

2. Continuity. TNA will call back on ideas from years ago with stuff like Bobby Roode hitting James Storm with a beer bottle, MVP having money from being Smackdown's highest paid athlete, and the history of the Beautiful People standing out. In WWE, Edge and Christian stopped being brothers. Advantage: Orlando.

3. Backstories. How many times do you ever get a backstory to a character in WWE? Fandango dances, Bo Dallas is a motivational speaker and Paige is a wrestler. Over in TNA, Knux has brought in his friends from a failed carnival, Gunner is a former Marine who helped his friend through a stay in a mental institution and Samuel SHaw has a disturbing mother and the bedroom of an eight year old. While these may not be the most fascinating characters in the world, they're about 9000x more detailed than WWE, which usually gives them a longer shelf life.

There's more out there so list what you think WWE does better, as well as questioning any of my correct statements.

So, this Damien Sandow Storyline...

So the story is this, right....Sandow did a ''shoot'' interview on the RAW pre-show weeks ago, bitching about his spot and then, all of a sudden, he does wacky characters, as ''punishment'' for his ''shoot'' interview. Right? Is that it?

That's Russo WCW 1999 Powers That Be bullshit right there.

Nobody told Triple H that Dave Meltzer doesn't get sarcasm

An observation: WWE invited select journalists from wrestling onto the conference call, Mike Johnson, Wade Keller, some dude from ProWrestling.net, Meltzer and Alvarez, which I think is another form of validation that whenever these guys report things and people respond, "loldirtsheets", these guys are actually thought about in the company as being able to almost push NXT Takeover, which if you listen to the entire call, which you can do so by clicking here , Triple H is crazily passionate about. Just an interesting observation.

But yeah, Meltzer's like Sheldon from The Big Bang, sarcasm goes straight over his head.

Is rusev the next Muhammad Hassan?

There are many similarities between them.

1. Both insult America and saying how their country is more superior.

2. We see rusev use the camel clutch which was the same finisher of Hassan.

3. They both have managers

Is wwe trying to create another Muhammad Hassan? And do you think that rusev will start getting threats as well because of it?

So, Let's Talk About That Uncomfortable Thing In Isla Vista

No, sorry, everyone, Killjoy doesn't live in Isla Vista. I think.

Five days ago, Elliot Rodger killed six people, before committing suicide. . The event itself is disturbing enough, without context, a brutal act of malice from an obviously depraved individual.

And then, more chilling detail arose. Namely, this video, shot hours before the killing spree...

This only leads one down the rabbit hole...

It becomes worse, when one considers that there was ample chance to stop him. It's become blatantly apparent that Elliot Rodger's clear warning signs were only taken seriously by his parents, and no one else.

... So, do we want to have an open and frank discussion as to why that is?

Because if we do, then it's going to require looking inward into the way our society treats women, and a blatant, undeniable truth, the likes of which we've wanted to ignore for quite some time.

The way we treat women is massively, massively fucked up.

Sure, the response to Elliot Rodger is that, by and large, he's a psycho. True, granted; getting through his 140 page manifesto is ample enough evidence of this fact. What is less mentioned, and what likely should be mentioned, is the fact that the dude had a string of twenty something videos, all with the same message;

I'm angry, because women won't sleep with me.

I mean, it's as plain as day, in this excerpt of his manifesto.

Quote:

If only one pretty girl had shown some form of attention to me, the Day of Retribution would never happen. I'd never even consider it. The Day of Retribution is mainly my war against women (Editor's note: !!!) for rejecting me and depriving me of sex and love. If only one girl had given me a chance, tried to get to know me, let me take her out on a date..

I don't even want to go into his desires to skin women alive, and send them to concentration camps.

Elliot Rodger may have been severely disturbed, but even a cursory glance of "When Women Refuse" will show a pattern of behavior of men who are rejected by men, and their appalling reaction to denial.

Elliot Rodger is not alone in his feeling of entitlement to a woman's body; and he isn't the only one to blame for this sentiment. But you sure as shit wouldn't know it in most articles; most articles opt for the easy answer, of what his therapist did (or didn't) do for him. It revolves solely around Elliot's (supposed, because no one's actually sure) mental disorders, and strays away from the sickening views this guy had on women, that led to his attacks.

Elliot Rodgers may have been fucked up, but he sure as shit had a problem with women and rejection. A problem which many share, which has led to the brutal attack (and yes, murder) of women. Because our society views women as play toys, objects for our pleasure. Since 1982, there have been 71 mass murders. Seventy of them have been committed by men.

This isn't a coincidence; it's a problem. Elliot hated that men were having sex when he wasn't; he went out to prove that he, in fact, was the alpha male. To him, and many men (not all men, lulz) that was his idea of establishing his dominance. How else do you explain an officer checking on him, and essentially saying, "nothing to see here"? There's a problem, with how we normalize hyper violence, especially towards women. The sheriff didn't see any red flags, because, hey, it's a kid in his twenties, who's working through some things.

Except, clearly he wasn't. He was an entitled man-child, who felt entitled to a woman's consent. And who let's on that image?

I'm sorry, not timely enough for you?...

I'm not saying all men conspire to treat women as objects; what I am saying is the fucked up way we treat women entitles the thought processes of monsters like Elliot Rodger.

So, I guess the question becomes, how do we solve this?

Favorite triple threat spots?

One of my favorite wrestling matches is the triple threat, and for one reason, the three man spots.

What are some of your favorite?

Some guilty pleasure ones:

WM 24: HHH vs Cena vs Orton: Orton goes for the RKO, Cena shoves him off, Orton basically senton's onto HHH

Common spot: Guy A throws Guy B into Guy C. Guy C is holding guy B in the DDT position, guy A hits a neckbreaker on Guy C, also giving guy B a DDT in the process

Rare spot: Guy A goes for a German on Guy B, Guy C hits a jumping neckbreaker on Guy B on the way down

Guy A goes for a Belly to Back on Guy B, Guy C charges, Guy A dropkicks Guy C and turns it into a bulldog on Guy B

What about you guys?

Any guilty pleasure ones?

We need more multi-men matches!

So, I don't know if you guys have noticed it, but lately, triple threat and fatal four way matches are so rare. If I recall correctly, the last time we had a triple threat was at Extreme Rules, then the main event at Wrestlemania and prior to that I don't even remember. Fatal four ways haven't happened since I remember myself.

Is this because creative is unable to book something like a triple threat storyline of a fatal four way storyline? I don't know, really. We have seen how uncreative they can be, so it could possibly be that. On the other hand, what I believe is that one on one matches are easier to market. This guy takes on this guy and if both guys are high tier, then it markets itself. The dynamics are fine, but sometimes you need to change it up.

The promos for one on one matches eventually get boring. Cena vs Bray. I love Bray, he is awesome on the mic. Cena delivers most of the time. But the feud has been going on for so long now and they need something new. Sure, this is "personal" so you can't add more guys, but it is an example of how "boring" a one on one feud can get.

Let's move on to the WWEWHC scene. Before WM, there were 4 people directly assosciated with the title; Orton, Batista, HHH and Bryan. It gave room for so many more promos, so many more matches building up to WM, room to change it up, different guys targeting different guys on different nights etc. If, for example, we only had Batista vs Orton for 6 weeks, what could those two guys do for such a long time, especially considering their lack of skill on the mic? I think you get the entire picture.

Multi-men matches give room for so much more potention in every feud. I remember a fatal four way from I think Backlash 2007, with Orton vs HHH vs JBL vs Cena I believe. It was such a good match and such good story building up to it. See Elimination Chamber this year. On every Raw, we got Orton facing each one of his competitors, giving room for so many good matches. I could go on.

Why doesn't WWE go that route though? Sure, they shouldn't do it all the time, but ESPECIALLY NOW that the WWEWHC is (going to be) vacated, it seems like the perfect opportunity to create such a mayhem. Imagine a match between Orton, HHH, X, X for the WWEWHC.

Should Roman lose the spear?

Title is pretty self explanatory. Roman Reigns currently uses the spear as his finishing move. Ranking his spear (giggity) has been talked to death on these forums, I believe Roman does it well, but I also believe he should stop using it as his finisher for several reasons.

1. Everyone and their mom had used the spear. From Goldberg and Rhino to Edge and Kaitlyn; the spear is a move that has been over used.

2. It's not really a finisher anymore. Not to say that it's not devastating, but I'm starting to view the spear the way I do the ddt. A great move, but so commonly performed. Can it really be someone's signature at this point?

3. He has a better move in his arsenal. The Superman Punch is a lot more over than the spear is for Roman. They're very similar in the set up and the effect. The main difference is the punch looks cooler, he has an awesome set up for it, the crowd loves it and most importantly, it's unique. Having both seems redundant to me.

So sound off, interwebs. Do you agree with me? Should Roman drop the spear or am I making mountains out of mole hills?

Who will be the next wwe champion who's never won it before

The way things are looking I would have to say Roman Reigns is the obvious choice for me. He has the look wwe loves and is way over with the crowd, I hope win whenever he does win it he'll still have to Shield by his side at least for a while.

Another choice is Bray Wyatt who I think if wwe wanted to could put the belt on him now when his feud with Cena is over but I don't see it happening. There the obvious choices to you see anyone else who could beat them two to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the first time?

Bubba/Bully Ray Used to Direct Porn

Here's a link... to the episode of Talk is Jericho I just listened to where he details how it happened. What did you think, I was going to post a link to the porno he directed? Without me on here there'd be no diversity, I'm like a saint!

Anyway, yeah, out of all the wrestlers I could see doing it he'd be pretty close to the top. He has that Brooklyn accent so instantaneously that works for him, "give it to ha' haaard, ya' do it, come on, do you know who I am? I'm tha' directa', bitch!" I do wonder if WWE knew of it during his run there. There is also potential for a witty and potentially successful line of t-shirts in this somewhere. "D-VON GET THE TISSUES!"

Do you consider HHH to ever have been the "face" of Raw/WWE?

We all know he's the king of kings, and a 13-time world champion and has done far too many cool things in wrestling in the 2000s- from Evolution to his rivalry with John Cena and Randy Orton. We all also know that HHH is often neglected or not mentioned in any single promo from one of those "Raw anniversary" shows which invariably put Rock and Austin on the forefront as the greatest of all times. (If I'm not mistaken, even the Rock's WM 30 promo had him mention Hogan, Austin, and Rock as the three great ones, or those two being the greatest as a token of humbleness). But the point is, HHH is invariably omitted. Even John Cena has now joined the elite list of "greatest">> Hulk Hogan>>Stone Cold>>The Rock>>John Cena. There's no place there for Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels is what I usually see. Sure, they were tremendous wrestlers, and even those 2 wrestling 2 mannequins would be more entertaining wrestling than Hulk Hogan but people generally consider the "larger than life" and "charisma" factor in determining the greatest. But I digress.

First of all, What factors or criteria do you use in order to determine who has been the "face" of a company/show? And considering Stone Cold and The Rock to have been the face of the WWF/E between 1998-2002, where does HHH stand post-2002(because it wouldn't be arguable that he wasn't even close to being "the face" as long as Rock and Austin were around. A heel champ, yes. "The face", no.)

Let us consider HHH's post-2002 career trajectory. The WWE is not only divided into two distinct brands, but Brock Lesnar as the WWE champion makes his championship exclusive to Smackdown. This compels Eric Bischoff to bring back the big gold belt and confer it on HHH, who would go on to hold that title 6(or more?) times and dominate the Raw brand as a heel champion until WM 21. But in the early days of his reign, from August 2002-2003, it was Brock Lesnar who was more of a "face" than HHH- 1)Brock was a babyface during that time. 2)He was intense, he was novel , he had magnetism or charisma. 3) His feuds and matches were more prominent in terms of quality and importance, and so did he close ppvs more times than HHH did(until the unibranded ppvs came along). Wrestlemania 19, for instance , was closed by Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle. So were Unforgiven and No Mercy 2002. It was not until Goldberg was featured that HHH and the WHC began to matter. Finally in 2004, Brock quits the WWE and HHH and Raw gained supremacy because the storylines going there and the star power simple was greater. Once John Cena debuted on Raw as the WWE champion, there was never any chance for HHH to be The face.

So, do you consider HHH to have been the face of the WWF, or Raw during 2002-2005? If yes, what criteria have you used to determine that?

Will Vince ever release a Autobiography?

Over the years we have seen some great books from WWE Superstars past and present. So far, Bret Harts book has been the most open and honest in my opinion and really lifted the lid on a few things that were often discussed by the IWC.

A Vince book would be a 'must read' and would be the biggest seller ever from someone associated with the wrestling industry. However, he would have to lift the lid on a lot of secrets within his own company and the industry as a whole so for that reason it is pretty much a non starter I guess.

We can only dream of him giving a 'truthful' account of what really happened with Macho Man, what happened with CM Punk in that room after Rumble 14, why did he release certain Superstars, his thoughts on Montreal, his thoughts on Austin walking out in 2002, did he really despise Good Ol JR....so many unanswered questions we need to know about.

What are your thoughts?

What if Vince had another McMahon offspring?

WWE chairman Vince McMahon has two children who got into the business under their father Vince K. McMahon Jr. With Shane & Stephanie McMahon both owning percents of the family company it seemed like the future of the WWE was in good hands. But some years ago Shane McMahon stepped down from his seat in the WWE to go in his own direction in life. Sure Shane's wife Marissa Mazzola could return to the WWE in her husband's place but that's seems unlikely. Stephanie is still holding things down from within the company but with her husband Paul LeVesque aka Triple H. Both have great business sense for leading the direction of the company in the future after Vince step's down as chairman. But at the end of the day, their both not on the same business level as poppa Vince.

Now what if Vince had another McMahon offspring? What if Vinnie Mac had another son or another daugther? Would that make things a little easier for the McMahon family as a whole? I'm pretty sure if Vince McMahon had another daugther there would be guys lined up around the block trying to marry her! And I'm pretty sure if Vince had another son Triple H wouldn't see much play in taking over the company in the future as he's not a McMahon by blood.

But what would you think if this did happen like that?

Which nWo faction was the greater?

Every old school wrestling fan knows that the New World Order angle was at the begining of the big boom period in WCW. They had made the first move in their game with the WWF/E during the infamous Monday Night wars. With the legendary babyface Hulk Hogan turning heel being aided by both Scott Hall & Kevin Nash as the founding members of the New World Order. And after a few months, the nWo grew with new members. But after awhile the stable was divided by certain members with certain members. You had nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpack. With nWo Hollywood as the heels and the nWo Wolfpack as the urban babyfaces.

But eventully WCW's creative team put the faction back as a whole after "the infamous" Hogan "finger poke of doom" angle went about. WCW also had the Latino World Order led by the late great Eddie Guerrero at one point riding off the success of the nWo faction. But the nWo as a whole will be remembered as one if not the greatest wrestling faction in wrestling history.

But in your opinion. Which nWo faction was the greater?

There is only one company that should buy WWE

Walt Disney. Disney could bring the WWE back from the dead. Just look at the incredible job Disney has done with Marvel and what they're about to do with Star Wars. WWE's training center is already in Florida so why not move the home base of WWE to Orlando? WWE could become one of the attractions at Disney including a physical hall of fame and perhaps home to a couple of raws and one or two ppvs a year. It just makes perfect sense. Disney could use their own talented staff to write WWE storylines and push the McMahon's out of WWE completely including Triple H.

Top 3 Most tragic deaths in pro wrestling

Please chime in. This is just off the top of my head

1. Yuji Nagata

2. Owen Hart

3. Chris Kanyon

Are women in wrestling taken for granted?

For the most part women take a bad rap in wrestling.

However

If Randy Savage didn't have Liz both with the Hogan feud and and Flair feud

If Edge and Matt Hardy didn't have Lita

If Sam Shaw didn't have Christy Hemme

If AJ wasn't playing multiple dudes and being obsessed with them

If Helen Hart wasn't there to throw the towel in on Bret at Survivor Series

and on and on

Would any of the feuds be as intense as they were?

What if Lana wasn't managing Rusev right now?

If we took all the women in the history of wrestling out of the equation what would it be like?

Shouldn't we give women in wrestling a little more credit than what they get?

Do you consider Goldberg to ever have been the "face" of WCW?

In 1998, Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Shawn Michaels to usher in "The Austin Era". Several factors helped the rise of Austin- innate talent and charisma, desire to excel, originality, WCW, departure of Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels' injury. It wouldn't be an overstatement that even for a period of 3 years(1998-2002), Stone Cold Steve Austin was the face of the WWF(and Co-Face with Rock).

Contrast that with Bill Goldberg. Here's a guy, solidly built, black trunks, intense, and at the time, had a unique entrance and style. But was he ever half as much the "face" of WCW brand as Austin was the face of the then WWF? People might say that he was huge back then, and they had him beat Hogan on Nitro and win the WHC. But, wasn't all that little more than Eric Bischoff's attempts at and obsession with beating Vince McMahon and winning the ratings game? Besides, was there even an organic build to Goldberg's WHC victory, besides that he was an intense guy who speared and jackhammered opponents and had an undefeated streak?

I don't think Goldberg was ever the "face" of WCW. I could say that Sting was, even though he was so multifarious that he wasn't the WHC for a prolonged time and yet they dubbed him as the "franchise". Ric Flair can be said to have been the face , and definitely Hulk Hogan. Goldberg was more of a fad. He had a good body, his entrance coupled with the grimaces and martial arts gestures was unique at then, and him defeating opponents within 2 mins was enjoyable because of the intensity and precision of his execution. But WCW was so loaded with talent(nearly 20 world champions, 20 talented mid-carders and dozens of lucha libres), and with Eric Bischoff constantly trying to beat Vince by way of acquiring WWF stars(especially Bret Hart), Goldberg was but a tip of the Iceberg.

So, my friends, Do you consider Goldberg to ever have been the "face" of WCW? If Yes, then for how long, and if you could somehow compare him with Rock and Austin as faces of the WWF, where do you think Goldberg stood in the WCW of that time?

Machinima: Street Fighter

I'm sure most of you are somewhat familiar with Machinima, especially if you've ever seen or heard of Rooster Teeth's "Red vs. Blue."

Here's a new series they started about four days ago I believe. It's for Street Fighter.

2 man commentary

On RAW JBL was clotheslined by Luke Harper and had to be attended to in the back for a match before returning to ringside. While I like JBL on commentary and would rather have had Cole or Lawler leave for a match, I was happy for a return to a 2 man commentary team. It feels to me to be less pointless conversation on a 2 man team and more focus on what's going on in the show.

Am I alone or would you rather have a 2 man commentary team or do you prefer the 3 man team?

I know this conversation has been brought up many times before, but I haven't seen it in a while so I thought I would bring it up again.

We had the "firing", is it time to move on from...

Brad Maddox, after his beatdown for interfering in the Shield/Evolution program, was "fired yesterday. Hmmm...I had forgotten Maddox was even around until the announcers mentioned last week that he was the one who let the Shield come to the ring as guest commentators. And who didn't know what his fate was going to be once we were told he did something directly defying HHH? His tenure as Raw GM was less than memorable. But in the current set up, the GM position in general hasn't been useful. With the Authority on TV almost every episode, the GM role is nothing more than a mid manager stooge who either follow direct orders from the McMahons or is guided to make the decisions that the McMahons want made. Even weak Corporate Kane was seen as more important and higher ranking than the GM.

Is it time to just phase out the position of program General Manager? I think as long as we're in the Authority era, it just isn't needed. Plus we've already been thru several iterations of "Who's going to be the next GM?" including months of matches being booked by a laptop. I don't think GM search will hold interest any more. Thoughts?

Total Divas Has Had The Influence I Was Afraid Of

With the second season of Total Divas set to end this Sunday, it's become painfully obvious that the show has finally taken many of the Divas down the road I was vehemently hoping we could avoid. Alas, I'm not surprised that it's happened, I'm more surprised that it took this long.

WWE has been using stories on the show as the basis for a couple of programs going on in the ring and it's just not at all working. In my opinion, it's pretty much a crap waste of time. Natalya and Nikki Bella have been feuding over Nikki's reaction to a painting Natalya made of she & Cena and gave to her as a gift, a feud that Natalya has been coming out on the losing end of.

Also, Summer Rae looks to be embroiled in a dual program. The one taken directly from Total Divas is against Eva Marie and it's just...it's just shit awful. Eva Marie may very well be the single worst female wrestler in WWE history. Their bit over backstabbing and arguing who's hotter makes for okay reality show drama, but it just doesn't translate well into a wrestling feud. That's especially true when one of the wrestlers involved simply cannot wrestle.

Summer Rae's other program is against Layla stemming from Fandango's "break up" with her while Summer Rae was away filming the next installment of The Marine franchise. They've been attempting to one up the other for Fandango's affections and I just don't see the point. The rose is long since off the bloom when it comes to Fandango and, frankly, Summer Rae has been a bigger star and more over with fans for the better part of a year. Layla's become a good wrestler over the past several years and Summer Rae has shown herself to be pretty decent, she knows how to use her character during matches. While neither gal is especially high on the importance scale right now, it just makes their feud pointless given that they're fighting for the attention of a guy that's only a slight step above a comedy mid-card jobber, though I think he's heading in that direction.

WWE Payback - WWE Divas Championship: Paige (c) VS Alicia Fox

Considering that Alicia Fox handed Paige her first defeat since coming to the main roster, this match had to come about. It should be a pretty decent match all in all, Alicia Fox is finally interesting in some manner, but Paige ultimately retains.

I think it's time to move Paige out of the underdog Diva role. I don't think anyone is really buying into it anymore, especially since most of the Divas on the roster don't have any huge degree of credibility.

Cena/Wyatt

If WWE really wants to build Bray Wyatt as a monster heel is Cena really the best guy to do it with? We know that Vince and all the higher ups see John Cena as the face of the company, and normally a heel taking out the top face is the best way to gain heat. But as I was watching Raw it is clear that the crowd is firmly behind Wyatt. Sure, there are a smattering of a Cena chants from the women and children, but without a doubt, the majority of fans are singing along with Wyatt.

My question is, with the disdain that most fans have with the Cena character right now, should WWE stop trying to build a monster heel character by using Cena?

WWE Payback: Daniel Bryan Segment

It's not often that an in-ring promo segment is announced for a ppv, but this is an interesting little hook to draw some additional viewers to the show. If Bryan doesn't surrender the title this Sunday, Stephanie McMahon will "fire" Brie Bella.

I don't expect Bryan to surrender the title as it would still play into the notion of Triple H & Stephanie believing it'd make Bryan a "martyr", as Steph said last night and Triple H stated last week during his in-character sit down interview for WWE.com. The natural inclination will be for a man to "protect" his wife, so I'm expecting Brie Bella to come stalking out to the ring just before Bryan is about to hand over the straps, walks up to Stephanie, tells her what she thinks of her, says that she's "quitting" and starts to lay a beat down on Stephanie. As this is going on, Kane's pyro & music hits with him stalking down the ramp and climbing into the ring. Stephanie's screeching for Kane to decimate Brie, prompting Bryan to successfully defend her from Kane, possibly even removing his neck brace to reveal that he's either recovered or is much closer to a recovery than expected. So, the issue remains unresolved for a while longer but Stephanie winds up getting a little taste of what people have wanted to see happen to her for the better part of a year. The segment ends with Bryan & Brie leading an enthusiastic crowd in a bit Yes chant.

I expect something along those lines to go down because it'll just be pretty anti-climactic for Bryan to merely hand over the title. Stephanie winds up so pissed off that, at some point, she might demand that Brie face her in the ring or Brie challenges her and gets her job back if she wins. I suspect there'll still be one more bout against Kane for Daniel Bryan because as much as most prefer to see him move on, possibly at MITB though I'd personally rather see the title defended on Raw with Bryan facing a new opponent for MITB, depending upon if Bryan's recovery is expected to be much sooner than has been reported/speculated upon. I doubt they'll let the issue of Bryan being "injured" by Kane go unresolved.
