Slick The Doctor Of Style Should Manage Big E

As soon as Big E snapped and started cutting that black southern baptist style promo on Raw a couple weeks ago, I thought of only 1 thing that could make sense at that point-Slick The Doctor Of Style returning to the WWE to manage Big E. That'd make perfect sense in many ways. Namely in this way especially-Slick in real life is a reverend, hence it'd actually make sense for him to manage Big E.

Slick was not only the WWF's first black manager, he also was always great at getting heat when he was a heel manager. When he was a face manager, he actually was funny, though not as effective as when he was a heel manager. His mic skills and charisma were great, his body mannerisms fit his character, he had a theme song which fit him perfectly, he dressed the part and I always was surprised that Slick wasn't in the original Nation Of Domination in late 1996.

Chirs Jericho Returns....Again

Nope, I didn't go back and dig up a thread from 2012. Nope, I didn't go back and dig up a thread from 2013. It's now 2014 and Chris Jericho has made his third comeback in as many years. I'm probably in the minority here but forgive me for not being excited this time. Hell, I wasn't excited last time. If WWE got a long term commitment out of Jericho maybe I would care more about his annual comeback, but my first thought is will he even make it to the end of the year.

I know we're in an era now where guys come and go after disappearing for months at a time. I don't mind it for bigger stars like The Rock, Brock Lesnar, and Triple H. Jericho doesn't belong in that group. I know what a lot of you are going to say. Jericho will help get some young talent over. Will he though? Chris Jericho has been “putting guys over” for so long a win over him doesn't mean anything. Just ask Evan Bourne, Fandango, and Ryback. I admit a feud with Bray Wyatt is intriguing but it's going to fall flat for me if Jericho skips town again as soon as it's over.

I know Chris Jericho is one of the guys that can do no wrong among the IWC. I'm not trying to hate on him. I like Jericho. I just don't like how he comes and goes. I'd be fine with Jericho sticking around full time for a couple years. I'd also be fine never seeing him again. Either way I wish he would make up his mind. In or out.

Tone down the high-risk

I've been delving through some of my old favorite cards from WCW in the late 80's early 90's. I get through these cards much easier than watching today's product and I find the matches much more compelling. Today it's a whole lot of bodies flying, but not a lot of good story-telling.

The other big thing, is while there were a lot of rest holds and a focus on mat wrestling, there also were a LOT less injuries during this time period.

Does anyone else think the agent's should be directing the talent to go in this direction? Protect each other and focus on a better story and not going the somewhat cheap direction of doing a big high-risk move for the sake of a quick pop.

Is anyone else kinda suprised?

Am I the only one who is kinda surprised Jack Swagger hasn't been fired yet? He is starting to put together a record of injuring other wrestlers. I'm not here to bash swagger and I'm not saying he's caused any injuries on purpose, but think about it. Wade Barrett was getting a good push, the gets injured during a beat down by swagger, and now is gonna be out for a few months and has to drop the Intercontinental Title. Before that he gave Ziggler a concussion. After that Ziggler dropped the World title and has been free falling down the card ever sense. Those two instances are recent and I think there may be others on that list. I'm pretty sure WWE has let guys go in the past for being unsafe. So is it just me or is any one else surprised Jack Swagger hasn't been labeled a hazard and given the axe?

Twisted Tea....PG-13??

I understand product placement and all that, but I just watched the horrible Twisted Tea add they just did.

#1 - it was horrific. Adam Rose is turning into a joke (even though he's actually talented), and it was one of Santino's worst segments in a while

#2 - WWE has been building its brand to be kid friendly for years. Now, they do an on air segment that appeals to kids (dancing bunny, Adam's rosebuds dancing) about an alcoholic beverage? Not even one mention of the fact that this is not an appropriate drink for kids. No warning, nothing.....

I understand if a kid asks their parents for it, the responsible parent will let them know that it's not appropriate for them but still.....some consistent branding on the part of WWE should be taking place.

I'm probably reading way too much into this, but does anyone else find this awkward at all.

WWE Battleground: WWE WHC - Cena (c) VS. Orton VS. Kane VS. Reigns

Earlier in the night, Triple H announced that the main event at Battleground will see John Cena defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal Fourway. Cena's opponents will be Randy Orton, Kane and Roman Reigns. Fourway bouts, like triple threats, are no DQ so this could be a wild, physical match. However, there's practically little doubt of Cena losing the title. They're also not going to have Seth Rollins cash in so soon, though I do suspect that he'll make an attempt that's foiled by Dean Ambrose.

WWE Battleground - Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal

A few minutes ago on Raw, an update on Wade Barrett's condition was presented and Barrett's separated shoulder will require surgery that will have him out for a number of months. It sucks as Barrett was doing great, but the title has been vacated and the new IC champ will be determined via a battle royal at Battleground.

They didn't say how many men will be in the battle royal, but Kofi Kingston & Ceasro are two of them. So, as of right now, the field for the new IC title is wide open.

It's the final show before the Money in the Bank pay per view so odds are we're going to see various matches between the participants in the two ladder matches. The build for the show has been acceptable but nothing thrilling for the last few weeks. Then again, a good wrestling show is always entertaining. Let's get to it.

Opening sequence.

We open with a recap of how we reached the World Title ladder match, complete with a music video.

Here are HHH, Orton and Rollins to get things going. HHH talks about all the eras we've seen in WWE history and says we're currently in the Authority Era because the Authority keeps making history. One way they're making history is by having the first Money in the Bank ladder match for the WWE Championship and to be the new face of the WWE.

But wait, there's more. There's also going to be a ladder match to become the new Mr. Money in the Bank. After Sunday, you're looking at one heck of a team in front of you. Orton promises to climb the ladder and become World Champion on Sunday, meaning he's still the face of the WWE. Rollins says he'll win as well but says there's a chance that Orton can't get the job done. Orton thinks Rollins might not win either, but HHH cuts them off, saying it's either survive against the Authority or thrive with the Authority. That brings him to Dean Ambrose, who is in for some Bad News tonight.

Bad News Barrett vs. Dean Ambrose

Non-title. They circle each other to start until Dean hits the Thesz Press and pounds Barrett out to the floor. Back in and Barrett hits a big boot to take over followed by a neckbreaker for two. Barrett hits his running boot while Ambrose is in the ropes and Dean is knocked to the floor again. We take a break and come back with Dean caught in a chinlock before he quickly fights out and nails some forearms. Barrett runs into a corner elbow but is still able to counter a tornado DDT. Ambrose escapes a pumphandle slam and hits his bouncing clothesline, setting up Dirty Deeds for the pin at 6:45.

Post match Swagger comes out and beats up Barrett in retaliation for Barrett hitting the Bull Hammer on Main Event. Ambrose jumps Swagger and pulls out a ladder but they wind up brawling without it. Dean starts getting the better of it but Rollins comes in through the crowd and sends Dean into the steps. A curb stomp leaves Ambrose laying.

Cameron vs. Paige

Non-title. Naomi sits in on commentary. Paige runs her into the corner to start but gets caught with something resembling a Codebreaker for two. Cameron puts on a headscissors as Naomi says Cameron is always talking. A quick Paige Turner gets the pin at 1:17.

Paige and Naomi have a friendly staredown after the match but Cameron jumps the champion again, knocking her into Naomi. Naomi and Paige are about to fight but cooler heads prevail.

The Wyatts pop up on screen with Harper talking about never having nice things but the Usos have what they want. Tick tock tick tock. Bray says his brothers will trample the Usos and a ladder will be his stairway. He'll take their ornament of power and have it all right in his hands. Imagine a nation of sheep led by a lone wolf.

Bray Wyatt vs. Sheamus

Non-title. Sheamus hammers away in the corner to start and runs Bray over with a shoulder before stopping a charging Wyatt with feet in the corner. The top rope shoulder looks to set up the forearms but Bray bails to the outside. The Family offers a distraction, allowing Bray to knock Sheamus off the apron as we take a break. Back with the Usos at ringside and Bray getting two off something we didn't see.

Sheamus fights out of a superplex attempt but gets punched off the top rope to the floor. Back in and Bray fires off headbutts in the corner before we hit the chinlock. Sheamus comes out with a running ax handle to the face followed by the forearms. Some more ax handles set up the powerslam but Bray nails a quick splash in the corner followed by the backsplash for two. A mostly botched Irish Curse sets up a top rope knee drop but Sheamus doesn't cover. Instead he puts on the Cloverleaf, drawing in the Family for the DQ at 8:35 shown of 12:05.

The Usos immediately come in and the Family is sent running.

Goldust and Stardust accept Ryback/Axel's challenge for Sunday. Stardust shows up and talks about staring into the sun and how terrifyingly beautiful it is. He talks about other stars but knows that he's everyone's favorite. Cody is nailing this so far.

Rob Van Dam/Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro/Alberto Del Rio

Heyman is on commentary as Del Rio and Van Dam get things going. A quick monkey flip sends Del Rio flying for two and it's off to Ziggler for the big elbow drop. Del Rio throws him down though and brings in Cesaro to work on Dolph's arm. Back to Alberto for a kick to the arm in the corner as Heyman breaks down the strategy for Sunday: “Climb the ladder and get the titles. What a stupid question!”

Ziggler hammers away in the corner and nails a neckbreaker as Heyman turns it into an analogy about asking Hilary Clinton how she'll become President. Cole of course gets in a jab at Hilary because that's probably what Cole told him to say. Del Rio kicks Ziggler out to the floor and us to a break. Back with Del Rio holding Ziggler in a chinlock followed by the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two. Cesaro puts on a chinlock of his own as Cole and Heyman continue their amusing banter about Sunday.

Ziggler fights back and puts on a sleeper but Cesaro rams him into the buckle to escape. Dolph avoids a charge and makes the hot tag to Rob as house is cleaned. Rolling Thunder gets two on Alberto but he nails a Codebreaker to the arm. Rob avoids the corner enziguri and hits the split legged moonsault for two. Swiss Death lays Ziggler out and Rob kicks Cesaro to the floor. The Five Star hits knees though and the armbreaker gives Del Rio the submission at 10:00.

The Usos talk very fast about keeping the titles on Sunday. They can cut some energetic promos.

Lana and Rusev do their thing in the ring, consists of standing there looking intimidating and looking great in a blue suit. You figure out which is which. The theme this week is urban decay in America, which just doesn't happen in Russia.

Rusev vs. Sin Cara

Total squash of course with Rusev winning via the Accolde in 42 seconds.

Big E. comes out after the match and talks about how America has transformed into a nation that works hard to keep things together. A real man looks his opponent in his eye which is what Big E. does here, but Lana makes Rusev back off. I'd buy this feud a bit more if Rusev hadn't destroyed Big E. in almost every encounter they've had.

We look at the Stephanie vs. Vickie angle from Raw. That's a great sendoff for Vickie and Stephanie's YOU'RE FIRED sounded so much like her dad's it was eerie.

Big E. vs. Rusev and Layla vs. Summer Rae with Fandango as guest referee have been added to the MITB card.

Roman Reigns vs. Kane

Feeling out process to start until Reigns gets two off a running shoulder. A slam gets the same but Reigns lowers his head and gets caught by a running DDT for two. We take a break and come back with Reigns in a chinlock but quickly breaking out. Kane walks into a Samoan drop but he kicks Roman in the face to take over.

The side slam gets two and a frustrated Kane sends him out to the floor. He loads up the announcers' table but Reigns drives him back first into the edge. Back inside now with Reigns nailing a clothesline followed by some headbutts. The apron kick sets up the Superman Punch but Orton comes out for the DQ at 4:52 shown of 8:22.

Orton takes the Superman Punch but Reigns walks into a chokeslam. Kane brings in a ladder but Orton isn't too keen on him climbing up. Kane steps to the side as Orton looks up, allowing him to climb the ladder. JBL is putting the pieces together as Orton takes the belts down (note that they're attacked to a kind of hanger and Orton took the hanger down, making it less likely that someone would only take one belt) and poses. Orton loads up the Punt on Reigns but gets speared. Kane takes one as well and Reigns holds up the titles to end the show.

Money in the Bank 2014

Date: June 29, 2014

Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts

Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, Jerry Lawler

Tonight is one of those nights that is going to change everything all at once. The World Title is vacant and will be hanging above the ring like the briefcase normally would. In addition to that we have a regular briefcase ladder match, meaning we'll see the future of the company for the net few months decided tonight. Let's get to it.

As per the pre-show, Bad News Barrett is officially out of the ladder match with a shoulder injury.

Instead of a match on the pre-show, we've got an interview with Daniel Bryan. He's already out of the neck brace and does a full YES chant around the ring. The fans come unglued for him and Bryan is clearly overwhelmed by their reaction. Bryan: “Shh.” Fans: “NO! NO! NO!” Bryan: “Well ok. YES! YES! YES!”

Cole gets right to the point: when can we expect him back in the ring? Bryan doesn't know because his arm strength isn't back and there's talk of another surgery. He promises that he'll be back and better than ever though. It wouldn't be a Daniel Bryan story if he didn't have a setback, and he's coming back to win his title.

It's time for some Twitter questions. Bryan thinks Reigns will win tonight and felt disrespected when he was stripped of the title. He finds it interesting that he was stripped of the titles because no one could beat him. This brings out Bo Dallas of all people for this line: “I know you can't compete tonight. That's got to be a pain in the neck!” Bryan can still climb the ladder of life and make his way back to the top. All he has to do is Bo-lieve! Bryan steals the line from the NXT fans and tells Bo to leave.

The opening video is about the climb and how it is more important tonight than ever before as it will decide the future.

Tag Team Titles: Usos vs. Wyatt Family

The Usos are defending and have been feuding with the Wyatts for over two months now without actually defending the titles against them. The children's choir sings a few lines of He's Got the Whole World before the music changes to some slow rock music. It's far better than the banjo music they had on Raw. Jey and Harper get things going and Luke gets kicked in the ribs to start. The Usos speed things up with some tagging but Harper dropkicks Jimmy down.

Jimmy gets caught in the wrong corner for some double teaming but he finally dropkicks Rowan through the ropes, setting up a big dive off the barricade to take him down again. Back in and a high cross body gets two on Erick and it's off to Jey vs. Harper. Luke quickly sends Jey through the ropes before catapulting him throat first into the bottom rope for two. Rowan puts on a claw hold for another two before it's off to a neck crank.

Jey avoids a legdrop but Harper breaks up the tag. A legdrop gets two on Jey but Rowan misses a splash and goes shoulder first into the post. Jey finally makes the hot tag to send Jimmy in to face Harper. Things speed way up and both Wyatts take Samoan drops. The Umaga attack nails Rowan and a Whisper in the Wind gets two on Luke. Two straight superkicks get a near fall on Harper but Jey dives into Rowan's arms. Jimmy dives onto both of them but walks into a shot from Harper as he comes back in.

Jey saves his brother from a double something and Jimmy rolls up Harper for a VERY close two. Harper powerbombs Jimmy for an even closer two before diving through the ropes at Jey. Jimmy's dive is caught by Rowan so Harper dives through the ropes again to take Jimmy down. Back in and something like a double chokeslam (if you lift under the arms instead of by the throat) gets two on Jey as Jimmy has to make a save. Harper is kicked to the floor so Rowan goes up top, only to get crotched out of desperation. The Usos superplex Rowan down and both add splashes for the pin to retain at 13:17.

We recap the Shield split, leading into Rollins vs. Ambrose.

Ambrose says he wants to grab Rollins by his new tie and rip him apart before climbing the ladder and grabbing the briefcase. The question is should he climb the ladder and grab the briefcase or use the ladder to bash Rollins' face in? Case or face? Case or face? Eh why not both?

Divas Title: Naomi vs. Paige

Paige is defending and Naomi gets the shot due to beating Paige on Main Event. There seems to be a respect between them but Cameron and Naomi have been having issues lately. Naomi takes Paige down to start and slams her down from the apron to the floor. A big running dive over the top rope crushes Paige again but Cameron doesn't look happy. Back in and they trade some quick rollups for two each before Naomi puts on a modified surfboard.

Naomi goes up but slips off the top, only to pull Paige out to the floor with her. They get back in at eight and Paige grabs a stump puller of all things. Cameron is finally smiling. Paige lets the hold go and Naomi snaps off a quick hurricanrana. The Rear View connects for a near fall but Paige blocks the split legged moonsault with knees to the ribs. Naomi tries the reverse DDT but Paige spins out and hits a fisherman's DDT for the pin at 7:03.

Cameron cheers at her partner losing.

The expert panel (host Renee Young, Booker T., Alex Riley and Christian) talks about what we've seen so far and make predictions for the ladder matches.

Money in the Bank by the numbers video.

Here's Damien Sandow as Paul Revere to warm us that the half wits are coming. That would be the Rosebuds for those of you that aren't smart enough to understand him. Rose comes out and says his usual stuff before backdropping Sandow to the floor.

Adam Rose vs. Damien Sandow

Rose hammers away with his comedy stuff to start but Sandow trips him up and rams Adam's face into the mat. The fans sing Rose's song as Sandow hooks a chinlock. Sandow hits the Wind-Up elbow (Sandow: “The elbow is coming! The elbow is coming!”) and it's back to the chinlock. You're Welcome (full nelson slam) gets two but Sandow misses a middle rope moonsault, setting up the Party Foul for the pin at 4:18.

Jon Stewart from the Daily Show is here.

We get some old school interviews from each guy in the MITB contract match.

Seth Rollins says he'll shock the world again. Plan A is he wins the contract. Plan B is he wins the contract.

Rob Van Dam says he's the winner.

Kofi Kingston says he'll fly high and everyone else will have trouble in paradise.

Dolph Ziggler says lightning strikes twice tonight.

Zeb Colter says tonight another great patriot will have his moment in Boston.

Rob Van Dam vs. Seth Rollins vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger vs. Dean Ambrose

Everyone but Kofi and Van Dam head to the floor to start but Kofi is quickly outside as well. Swagger goes for a climb but Kofi is back in to dropkick him down. The Boom Drop on a ladder crushes Swagger and Kofi goes up. Ambrose shoves the ladder over but Kofi lands on the top rope and springboards down onto the rest of the people in the match. Rollins and Ambrose fight over who gets to climb with Ambrose slamming Seth down. A ladder is laid in the corner and Dean suplexes Rollins onto the steel.

Kofi and Dolph climb the ladder but have to deal with Swagger. They climb again after sending Jack to the floor but fight down to the mat where Rollins nails them with another ladder. Van Dam kicks Rollins in the face and puts a ladder over the bottom rope. Rolling Thunder crushes Rollins onto the ladder and Ambrose is kicked to the floor. Ziggler and Ambrose are dispatched as well with Swagger taking the Five Star. Lawler points out how meaningless that is as Rob finally realizes he needs to climb.

Kofi comes back for a save but takes too long trying to superplex Van Dam, allowing Swagger to hit Kingston in the back with a ladder. Jack sets up a ladder in the corner in front of Van Dam but gets headbutted down to the mat. Rollins breaks up a Five Star attempt but has to fight out of a superplex attempt. Swagger climbs up and powerbombs Van Dam down but Dean climbs the ladder and superplexes Rollins down. Both guys are down but Ambrose grabs a ladder, only to have Ziggler dropkick it into his face.

Swagger throws Kofi around and hits the Vader Bomb onto the ladder onto Kofi. Van Dam makes a save but Ambrose and Rollins pull them both down. Seth and Dean climb up and slug it out on top of the ladder with Rollins being knocked down. Swagger makes a save and pulls Ambrose down, only to have Dean counter into a DDT off the ladder. Ambrose comes up holding his shoulder and the doctor says he dislocated it. He quickly walks off under his own power but isn't happy about it at all.

Rollins goes up but Rob makes the save. They fight on the ladder and Kofi bridges a ladder between the ropes and into the standing ladder. Van Dam falls and seems to have hurt his leg. Kofi backdrops Rollins onto the bridge and almost gets the case but Ziggler makes a last second save. Ziggler hammers away on Swagger as Van Dam is back up, only to take a Fameasser.

The Zig Zag to Kofi sends both guys onto the ladder but Dolph is still able to climb. Swagger puts him in the ankle lock but Ziggler still climbs in a cool visual. Jack gets kicked away but Rollins his Ziggler in the injured ankle. Rollins climbs but Ambrose comes back and destroys him with the chair. Dean goes up but Kane's pyro goes off and he makes the save. A chokeslam plants Ambrose and the safest looking tombstone I've seen in years knocks him out. With Kane playing defense, Rollins gets the case at 21:23.

The Authority comes out to celebrate with Rollins.

Orton says he doesn't need the same help Rollins needed. He has nothing to say about Roman Reigns.

Goldust/Stardust vs. Ryback/Curtis Axel

Axel now wears a singlet but gets quickly taken down by both Dusts. An armdrag sends him over for a tag off to Ryback who gets double teamed very quickly. Goldust comes in for an atomic drop and kick to the side of the head but Axel gets in a shot from the apron. Goldust gets hammered by Ryback and the middle rope splash/elbow combination gets two for Axel.

We hit the chinlock as JBL sounds like his voice is starting to go. Ryback comes in with a slam but misses a splash in the corner, allowing for the hot tag to Stardust. House is cleaned and Stardust DDTs Ryback for two. Shell Shock is countered into Cross Rhodes for two with Axel making a diving save. Stardust sends the partners into each other and rolls up Ryback for the pin at 7:40.

Goldust and Stardust dispatch an attacking Axel after the match.

We recap the love triangle between Summer Rae, Layla and Fandango. Summer had been Fandango's dance but Fandango dumped her and picked up Layla. She saw him kissing Summer recently and now they're fighting over him.

Fandango is in the back when the girls come up and present their attributes to him for lack of a better term.

Rusev vs. Big E.

Big E. hammers away to start and actually has some early success. Rusev in knocked to the apron but gets up a knee to stop the spear through the ropes. The gutwrench suplex drops Big E. and we hit a chinlock from Rusev. A splash misses though and Big E. gets two off a belly to belly. Rusev charges into the Rock Bottom out of the corner for two and Big E. avoids the jumping superkick. Another suplex sends Rusev to the apron and now the big spear connects. Back in and the straps come down but Rusev kicks him in the side of the ear. The jumping superkick and Accolade keep Rusev undefeated at 7:19.

The expert panel talks a bit more and we see clips from Bryan's pre-show speech.

Summer Rae vs. Layla

Fandango is guest referee. It's a brawl to start with Summer stomping her down into the corner. Layla kicks her into Fandango and puts on a leg lock, drawing a CM Punk chant from the bored crowd. Summer fights out with a bunch of basic offense, only to get her neck snapped across the top rope, setting up a high kick for the pin at 2:59.

We recap the main event, which is taking place because of Bryan's injury.

WWE Title: John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns vs. Kane vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Cesaro

The title is vacant coming in. It's a huge brawl to start with everyone going for a ladder or each other early on. Bray escape an AA attempt and dives at a ladder to crush Sheamus before hooking up with Cesaro to clean house. Reigns and Orton fight while Sheamus and Kane do the same on opposite sides of the ring. Reigns and Sheamus pick up ladders to crush Kane and pin him underneath the smaller ladder. Del Rio stops Reigns from going up as Cesaro and Sheamus climb. All four start climbing two ladders but Kane breaks it up and cleans house.

Cena comes back in and charges into a chokeslam before Kane cleans out most of the ring. He sets up a ladder in the middle of the ring and tells Orton to go up just like he did with Rollins earlier. Reigns shoves Kane into the ladder for the save but gets jumped by Bray. Cena comes back in with a ProtoBomb to Wyatt, only to walk into Swiss Death. Cesaro and Sheamus slug it out on top of the ladder as Bray spider walks up and shoves the ladder over. The Europeans are left hanging in the air and eventually fall to reset things.

Orton is all ticked off after getting hit with the ladder so he pulls out more ladders. He bridges one between the announce table and apron so he can put Sheamus over the bridge for an Elevated DDT. Back in and Orton throws a ladder to the floor before setting up the big one in the middle. Everyone gets back in and we go into scramble mode with no one getting higher than the second or third rung.

The people all get steadily knocked to the floor until only Kane is left standing. He takes down the big ladder and goes over to fight with Sheamus instead of climbing. Sheamus comes back with the forearms to the chest and White Noise, followed by a Brogue Kick to Cena. Sheamus sets up the big ladder again but Kane makes a save. The Irishman goes up but Cesaro bridges a ladder into the tall one to climb faster for another save. Cena and Del Rio fight to the floor as Reigns lifts up the big ladder with Sheamus and Cesaro on top. The bridged ladder keeps them from falling and Cena pushes it back to level.

Everyone is back in again and Cena is slammed onto the bridged ladder by Wyatt. Kane pulls people off the ladder but gets speared by Roman. Orton sends Reigns into the big ladder and knocks it over though, leaving no standing ladder in the ring. Reigns comes back with Superman Punches all around and the apron boot to Del Rio. HHH is all ticked off and we're down to Cena vs. Reigns. They slug it out and Cena tries the AA, only to get speared out of his shoes.

Reigns goes up but Orton makes a last second save. With blood on the top of his head from earlier, Orton goes up but Bray takes him down with Sister Abigail. Del Rio stops Bray (and kills the crowd) but Sheamus shoves the ladder over and kicks Del Rio's head off. An RKO pulls Sheamus off the ladder but Reigns stops Randy's attempt. Orton is busted open BAD so Reigns rips at the cut and headbutts him a few times. Kane is back in for yet another save though by chokeslamming Reigns off the ladder. Cena grabs Kane for an AA though and Orton gets one as well, allowing Cena to get the titles at 26:30.

Monday

Smackdown got a 1.8, up from last week.

Monday Night Raw

Date: June 23, 2014

Location: Verizon Center, Washington D.C.

Commentators: Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, John Bradshaw Layfield

It's the go home show for Money in the Bank and the big story tonight is the reveal of the rest of the roster for the contract ladder match. Other than that it's likely going to be the usual go home show, with a lot of speeches about why everyone will win and not have a lot of other development. Let's get to it.

Here's Stephanie in a very tight pink and black dress to open things up. She says that as owner of this business, she can't stand gross negligence. Vickie Guerrero couldn't get her a simple cup of coffee, so Vickie needs to get out here and face the consequences. Vickie comes out looking terrified and says she knows Roman Reigns spiked the coffee. Finally, someone watches the show.

Stephanie is still annoyed though because Reigns was the one thing that Vickie was supposed to avoid. Somehow Vickie screwed up and allowed Roman to get into the title hunt and Stephanie gets in a plug for the ladder match. Stephanie says Vickie has been riding Eddie's coattails for nine years. She couldn't be a Diva so they made her a GM, but Vickie couldn't even do that right.

Vickie doesn't deserve the same respect Eddie got so Stephanie has no choice. Guerrero offers to beg and the fans chant NO. Stephanie tells her to beg on her knees and Vickie does just that. The boss says stop humiliating yourself because you have one more chance: win your match tonight or get fired. Vickie wants to know who she would have to face and of course Stephanie is the opponent. Stephanie is about to fire her but Vickie gets some courage and says the Guerrero name is more respected than the McMahons. The match is on.

Jimmy Uso vs. Luke Harper

The Family now has some I believe organ version of He's Got The Whole World In His Hands for their entrance. I'm hoping it's just for the tag team because it doesn't work at all. Harper nails a quick dropkick to start but gets caught by a spinning kick to the face. Jey and Rowan get into a fight on the floor and Jimmy loads up a dive, only to walk into the discus lariat for the pin at 1:43.

Jey wants to fight Rowan right now and gets what he wants after a break.

Jey Uso vs. Erick Rowan

Joined in progress with Jey fighting out of a chinlock but getting caught in a fall away slam. Another slam gets two for Rowan but he misses a charge into the post. A superkick puts him down though and the Superfly Splash is good for the pin at 1:58. Same match with the roles reversed.

The Wyatts destroy the Usos post match. Bray pops up on screen and says he's proud of his boys. He and his brothers look down upon creation and see the bodies of all their conquerings. On Sunday, Bray will climb the ladder and become champion of champions. His brothers will prove themselves worthy to be his disciples and they will roam the earth like disciples, spreading their message of follow the buzzards.

Lana and Rusev went sight seeing earlier today and rip on some Washington landmarks. America's only option is to bow down and accept Vladimir Putin.

Alicia Fox vs. Naomi

Paige and Cameron are on commentary. Naomi gets a quick rollup for two but can't hit the Rear View. Cameron brags about how touch she is and how she's going to dance all over everyone and win the Divas Title. The girls fight on the floor with Naomi getting the better of it but getting pulled off the apron and down onto the concrete. Fox gets two off a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker as Cameron is still running her mouth. A northern lights suplex gets two on Naomi as Paige shrugs off everything Cameron says. Fox sends Naomi outside and poses a lot but back inside, a quick reverse DDT gives Naomi the pin.

Post match Paige gets on the apron and holds up the belt while sticking out her hand. Naomi slowly shakes it and it looks like we have a future title match set.

Sheamus and Reigns are in the back talking about their 4-3 handicap match tonight. Reigns is ready but Sheamus brings up Shield attacking everyone in WWE over the last year and a half. Sheamus says Sunday is every man for himself and Reigns says he'll be ready. The idea seems to please Sheamus and both guys say they'll win on Sunday.

Titus O'Neil vs. Bo Dallas

Bo has a black eye but brings up Titus' two losses in less than a minute on Smackdown. He suggests Titus Bolieve of course. Some dropkicks have Titus staggered but he comes back with a series of slams and chops in the corner. Titus misses a charge though and the Bodog gives Bo the pin at 1:06.

Titus knocks the mic out of Bo's hands post match. Bo: "Silly me. Mr. Butterfingers." Titus gets the pep talk but nothing else happens.

Here's HHH to talk about how all the decisions in this country are made right here in Washington DC. He explains the double ladder match on Sundaya nd how the winner of the briefcase is almost guaranteed to be World Champion. The lineup for the ladder match will be Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler (big pop), Rob Van Dam and Bad News Barrett. That's only six even though the graphic had seven spots. HHH picks Rollins to win the match of course and here's Seth, now with his own t-shirt.

The fans chant YOU SOLD OUT and Rollins says they really should be over it by now. If the fans love Ambrose and Reigns as much as they claim they do, they should still be thanking Rollins for getting them as high as they did. Shield may have gotten him this far, but this Sunday he'll climb the ladder all by himself. You can call him a sellout but on Sunday you're going to call him Mr. Money in the Bank.

This brings out RVD who thinks he's not being taken seriously. Seth: “I do take you seriously. I'd take you even more seriously if this was 2005.” RVD: “Back when you had to ask your mom to stay up late and watch me wrestle?” Van Dam brings up crushing HHH's trachea in the first Elimintion Chamber before challenging Seth to a match right now. HHH says let's do it.

Rob Van Dam vs. Seth Rollins

This actually starts without a break and Van Dam hits a quick monkey flip to take over. Seth is sent to the floor for a dive followed by a moonsault from the apron as we take a break. Back with Rob getting choked on the ropes before Seth hits Three Amigos for two. After a chinlock goes nowhere, Seth gets two off the spinning sleeper drop.

Back to the chinlock for a few moments before Rob grabs a rollup for two. Some clotheslines look to set up Rolling Thunder but it takes a big spinning kick for Rolling Thunder to connect. A top rope kick to the face drops Seth but the Five Star only hits mat. The buckle bomb sets up the curb stomps but Dean Ambrose runs in for the DQ at 10:00.

Ambrose destroys Seth until Rollins can get away. Dean demands to be put in the ladder match because he'll wreck things if he doesn't get in.

After a break, Rollins wants Ambrose in the ladder match so Seth can keep his eyes on him. Rollins says any failure will be on him so HHH grants his wish.

Intercontinental Title: Bad News Barrett vs. Dolph Ziggler

Rematch from a non-title match on Smackdown where Ziggler got a quick upset. Barrett rips on the Redskins before the match. We get big match intros after a break and Ziggler grabs a quick rollup for two. A clothesline puts him on the floor though and Barrett takes over. Back in and Barrett cranks on a chinlock but comes back with a hard series of right hands on the mat and in the corner. Winds of Change gets two more for the champion but he gets caught by the Zig Zag. Barrett rolls to the floor before Dolph can cover though and we take a break.

Back with Ziggler getting two off something we didn't see but being sent to the floor so the champion can take over. We head back inside with Bad News kicking him in the ribs for two but going up top, only to get caught in the top rope X Factor for a very close near fall. Barrett loads up a powerbomb but switches over to Wasteland for two instead. The Bull Hammer is countered into the Fameasser for yet another near fall as the fans are WAY into this. Another Winds of Change is countered into a crucifix but the Stinger Splash lands on the Bull Hammer for the pin to retain the title at 12:34.

Vickie says she has no regrets. Orton shows up and says Vickie will get what's coming to her.

Vickie Guerrero vs. Stephanie McMahon

Guerrero comes out to Eddie's music and Stephanie comes out in the pink and black dress and heels. The match isn't going to take place in the ring, but rather in a mud pit. The first person to go into the pit loses the match, and Vickie is fired if she loses. Stephanie sends Rosa Mendes, Layla and Alicia Fox to attack Vickie and she's easily overpowered, but manages to send Rosa into the pit. Layla goes in as well and Alicia follows her, causing Vickie to do the YES chant. Stephanie hits her from behind though and knocks her into the pit for the win. Not a match of course.

Stephanie fires her in a perfect imitation of Vince's voice. She starts the Goodbye Song but Vickie gets fed up and the reality that Vickie has nothing to lose quickly sets in. Vickie throws her into the muck and Vickie does the Eddie dance before leaving. The referee is pulled in while helping Stephanie just to make things all the better.

We recap the debut of Stardust.

Goldust is in the back and says he didn't see Cody last week. This brings in Stardust who sings When You Wish Upon a Star. Goldust: “WOW! Now I'm the normal one!”

Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger

Kofi goes after the leg to start before kicking away at the ribs. A hard shoulder puts Kofi down but he comes back with the jumping elbow to the jaw. Swagger kicks him in the ribs and hits the Vader Bomb before cranking on the arm. Kofi fights up with some dropkicks to send Swagger outside, followed by a big flip dive. Back in and Kingston's top rope cross body is caught but he comes back with a victory roll for two. A flapjack sets up the Patriot Lock though and Kofi taps at 3:56.

Naomi vs. Paige is official for Sunday.

Del Rio says he's the only one in the ladder match that is undefeated in Money in the Bank. Not true but whatever. Cesaro and Heyman come up with Paul talking about how Del Rio may be the one in the ladder match, but Heyman is the one behind the one in 21-1 and how Cesaro will win on Sunday. Del Rio asks Cesaro if he ever talks, so Cesaro says he doesn't speak loser.

Damien Sandow is Abraham Lincoln this week and reads a proclomation that says some people don't find him entertaining. He'd rather spend a night in Ford's Theater than let simpletons determine his career. He runs his mouth for a bit longer until Big E. interrupts.

Damien Sandow vs. Big E.

Sandow wrestles in the suit and stomps away in the corner. Big E. runs him over and hits the Big Ending for the pin at 54 seconds.

Post match Big E. goes into what sounds like a preacher rant about how this is the land of the free and how tired he is of hearing Rusev and Lana run down America. Lana comes to the stage, allowing Rusev to jump Big E. from behind. The jumping superkick sets up the Accolade as America is crushed again.

Cena talks about how this Sunday, seven men will fight for the WWE Championship. Moments and memories will be made but we're guaranteed to see a new WWE Champion. It's time to pick which of the Magnificent Seven walks out as champion. He's wearing green tonight and that's the color of money, so people should bet on him. I've heard worse lines.

John Cena/Sheamus/Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio/Randy Orton/Cesaro/Bray Wyatt

Rematch from Friday. Cena and Orton get things going after a break with John quickly running him over and making the tag to Sheamus. It's quickly back to Cena to face Del Rio with Alberto stomping away in the corner. The running bulldog puts Alberto down and it's off to Cesaro for a big showdown. Cesaro wins a test of strength and takes Cena into the corner for a stomping from Wyatt.

We hit the nerve hold on Cena followed by the running backsplash as we take a break. Back with Del Rio trying to keep Cena in a chinlock. Cena gets to his feet but a DDT brings him right back down for two. Cesaro tags himself in and loads up the Swing but opts for a Boston crab instead. John fights up and powers out, seting up the hot tag to Reigns. Roman cleans house with his usual stuff, including the apron dropkick to Del Rio. The Superman Punch drops Cesaro and Orton but Del Rio gets two off a Backstabber.

Back to Bray for the running cross body followed by the gutwrench suplex from Cesaro. Orton tags himself back in to Cesaro's annoyance before suplexing Reigns down for two. We hit the chinlock before the heels all start taking their turns on Reigns. A quick Superman Punch drops Bray and Cesaro comes back in, only to knee Reigns into the tag to Sheamus.

The pale one cleans house and hits fourteen forearms to Cesaro's chest. White Noise doesn't work but the powerslam puts Cesaro down. Everything breaks down and it's finishers a go-go. Orton and Del Rio take AA's but Cesaro lays Cena out with Swiss Death. The Brogue Kick out of nowhere is enough to pin Cesaro at 15:30.

Post match Kane comes out to clean house with chokeslams for most of the seven men. HHH comes out and announces Kane as the eighth man. Reigns spears Kane down after the fire comes out of the posts.

NXT

Date: June 26, 2014

Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida

Commentators: Rich Brennan, Renee Young, Alex Riley

NXT is coming in off a bad show which isn't something I have to say all that often. Last week's show was pretty boring with Tyler Breeze having one of the least interesting matches I've ever seen from the promotion and the main event being an angle instead of a match. Things down here have a habit of turning around quickly though so let's get to it.

Opening sequence.

T. Perkins/Matt Sugarman vs. Vaudevillians

The Vaudevillians are introduced at a combined height of 12'7. Renee says Sugarman is a Bastion Booger fan because that's how awesome she is. Gotch takes Sugarman down with an armbar before putting on a headscissors so he can do clap pushups. A slam puts Sugerman down and the top rope Swanton (That's A Wrap) from English gets the pin at 2:45.

We recap the main event from last week. Zayn says Tyson is a weird kind of cat because he never learned how to lose. They'll be hearing from each other again.

Xavier Woods vs. Bull Dempsey

CJ Parker's crusade in the crowd continues. Dempsey gets a full entrance and has a theme song with the word BULL being shouted over and over. Dempsey grabs a headlock to start and hammers Woods down with pure power. A headbutt gets two before Dempsey just drills Woods with forearms to the chest. Dempsey is in a short singlet, earning him a PUT SOME PANTS ON chant from the lively crowd. Woods fights out of a chinlock with a jawbreaker but jumps into a right hand to the face. A sitout slam (the Bulldozer) gets Bull the pin at 4:40.

Bull says the children have run NXT for too long and he's the last of a dying breed.

Summer Rae vs. Becky Lynch

Becky is an Irish redhead in green. The fans chant for her to start and Lynch does a jig. Becky takes her down with an armbar but she gets kicked in the face for two. Charlotte tries to interfere but Summer shouts that it's her match, allowing Lynch to get a VERY close two off a rollup. Lynch hits three straight legdrops for two followed by a capture suplex for the pin at 2:59.

Sawyer Fulton vs. Colin Cassady

They circle each other for a bit as the announcers hype Cassady up as a future NXT Champion. Fulton shoves Cassady to start but walks into a big boot and the S-A-W-F-T Elbow gets the pin at 1:26.

The Legionnaires come out to go after Colin but Enzo Amore runs out for the save. Catchphrases are spoken.

Adrian Neville vs. Rob Van Dam

Tyler Breeze is on commentary. Non-title and set up as RVD wanted to face the best NXT had to offer. Neville takes over with a headscissors on the mat and an armdrag sends Van Dam out to the floor. Back in and a rollup gets two for Adrian as Renee says Van Dam is Neville's idol. Van Dam kicks Adrian to the floor and nails a shot off the apron to put both guys down. Adrian is back up first for a big moonsault to take Rob down again.

We take a break and come back with Adrian holding a front facelock but getting caught in an atomic drop. Renee asks Tyler about a potential full length album but Breeze says his one hit will last for awhile. Van Dam kicks Neville in the face and does it again in the corner. Neville's sunset flip is countered for two and he gets tied up in the Tree of Woe. A running kick to the ribs has Neville in even more trouble but he escapes a German suplex.

Adrian's springboard clothesline gets two on Van Dam but he comes back with a jawbreaker. The split legged moonsault only hits mat and a small package gets two for the champion. Van Dam throws Adrian into the air for a kick to the chest to take over again. The Five Star misses though and Neville comes back with a running DDT, followed by the Red Arrow for the pin at 13:56 shown of 16:26.

They shake hands post match and the announcers don't treat this like a big upset.

Results

Vaudevillians b. T. Perkins/Matt Sugarman – That's A Wrap to Sugerman

Bull Dempsey b. Xavier Woods – Bulldozer

Becky Lynch b. Summer Rae – Capture suplex

Colin Cassady b. Sawyer Fulton – S-A-W-F-T Elbow

Adrian Neville b. Rob Van Dam – Red Arrow

Impact Wrestling

Date: June 26, 2014

Location: Bethlehem Events Center, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Commentators: Mike Tenay, Tazz

We're still in Pennsylvania for the second of about ten straight taped shows. The big story coming off last week is Lashley winning the World Title from Eric Young to give the trio even more control. MVP was very abusive with his power though so the mighty hand of the invisible Board of Directors might be in play tonight. Let's get to it.

We open with a recap of last week's main event.

The trio is in the back and MVP says they're ready to fight tonight.

Beautiful People vs. Gail Kim/Terryn Terrell

Angelina and Gail get things going with Love missing an early splash in the corner, allowing Gail to hammer with forearms to the jaw. Off to Terryn who hammers away for a bit but gets caught by the double team on the floor. A double elbow drop gets two for Velvet followed by some forearms to the head. A running neckbreaker gets two and we hit the chinlock. Terryn finally escapes to make the hot tag as everything breaks down. Terrell hits a cross body to put both Beautiful People down, allowing Gail to hit Eat Defeat on Angelina for the pin at 6:45.

Bound For Glory is in Tokyo. That's going to be interesting.

Dixie Carter says it's a good night to be Dixie Carter.

Here are King and MVP with something to say. There's a table with champagne set up behind them and three good looking women to make the view a bit better. MVP brings out Lashley and says they conquered last week, just like they promised they would, and now they own the world. Eric Young is going to be asking for his release after the beating they gave him last week. This brings out Eric with his arm in a sling. He knows you can't fight city hall but he only wants to fight them. Young charges to the ring and gets beaten down by the two healthy guys. Bobby Roode jumps the barricade to make another save.

Back from a break with Roode talking about signing his contract on the same day as Eric Young and how they both have TNA in their blood. Eric Young has spent the last seven years fighting for the love of wrestling and Roode says they both want the title. They want their company back, because that's what TNA originals say to heel stables on this show. Roode is back to fight for what he loves and doesn't care what MVP does.

MVP asks to get in the ring and be civilized. The boss says every action has a reaction and Roode's actions have earned a reaction from MVP. In his capacity as the boss, Roode is officially....interrupted by a guy in a suit. His name is Mr. Armstrong and he's a member of the board of directors. In a Texas accent, he says MVP is no longer Director of Wrestling Operations and his replacement will be here tonight. Roode nails MVP.

The Menagerie gets a phone call. Apparently they have to win a title or the family business is going under. Crazy Steve is going to win the X-Division Title tonight. The Bro Mans come in and say they're getting the shot because they speak strong style. An unmasked Manik comes in and says he's getting the shot. He puts on the mask and says Steve has something on his face.

Spud and Dixie think she gets power back tonight.

X-Division Title: Sanada vs. Crazy Steve vs. Manik vs. DJZ

Sanada had the choice of opponent and picked all of them. Fast pace to start with Sanada getting a quick rollup but DJZ trips him to the floor. Steve bites DJZ's head and fingers but Sanada sunset flips both of them, sending both guys flying. A missile dropkick puts both guys down but Manik puts the champion in an Indian Deathlock. Manik hits a huge dive to take out all three challengers on the floor. Back in and DJZ hits a tornado DDT on Steve but we get a Tower of Doom to send both guys down. A quick tiger suplex from Sanada is enough for the pin on DJZ at 3:26.

MVP says no one takes anything from him.

Magnus and Bram say a Monster's Ball match sounds like an old Friday night to them.

Here are Dixie and Spud to gloat. Fan: “NO ONE CARES! YOU SUCK!” She says she's always put faith in wrestlers and they keep screwing her over. There's a table behind her for no apparent reason. Dixie laughs at the fans for buying into MVP's nonsense and promises to give the fans what they want: More Dixie!

She brings out the lawyer or whatever he is from earlier and offers him a toast. He says there's been a misunderstanding because Dixie isn't the new Director. The champagne goes into her face and says this isn't happening over her dead body. This brings out Bully Ray who drinks some of the champagne and threatens to put them both through a table. Dixie offers $200,000 for him to let her go but he wants the table. Ethan Carter runs out and is easily dispatched and Spud gets the same treatment. Dixie is lited up but Spud moves the table for the save.

Dixie is panicking and Ray says he was that close.

Mr. Anderson vs. James Storm

It's a brawl on the floor to start as the announcers speculate about who the new boss might be. They fight into the ring and the swinging neckbreaker puts Storm down but Anderson might have hurt his shoulder. Closing Time and a Backstabber get two for Storm but he misses the Last Call. The Mic Check is countered by a grabbed rope and the Last Call gives Storm the pin at 2:19.

Gunner has gotten Samuel Shaw out of the asylum under his care. Shaw shakes his hand.

James Storm asks Sanada if he's ready for the pressure of Destination X and implies that he's coming for the title.

Tommy Dreamer jumps Ethan Carter and they brawl in the back. The fight spills into the arena with Dreamer hitting Ethan with a trashcan but getting hit low and slammed on the ramp. Dreamer suplexes him onto the floor but gets whipped into the steps. Ethan goes into the steps as well and they head inside where Dreamer keeps hammering away. Security breaks it up and the fans say let them fight.

Willow and Abyss are ready for Monster's Ball.

The trio goes to wait on the new boss. After a break they attack the driver when he won't say who he's driving.

Bram/Magnus vs. Abyss/Willow

Monster's Ball meaning anything goes and weapons are encouraged. Abyss hammers on Bram to start and knocks him out to the floor, leaving the other two in the ring to brawl. Abyss sets up a barbed wire board between the ring and barricade but stops to throw weapons into the ring. The Brits hammer away with trashcans but Willow comes back with a double clothesline. Whisper in the Wind drops Magnus and a trashcan to the head puts Bram down. The Swanton misses but Abyss finds Janice. As usual though it gets stuck in the turnbuckle before any murder can take place.

Bram is busted open but he's able to handcuff Abyss to the barricade. The double teaming ensues on Willow but Abyss breaks the cuffs and makes a save. Magnus lays him out with a trashcan, only to have Willow makes the save with a kendo stick and Twists of Fate all around. Magnus throws the chair to knocks Willow off the top and through the barbed wire in a big crash. Abyss has thumbtacks and, after avoiding a shot from Janice, chokeslams Magnus down onto them. Bram nails Abyss in the ribs with Janice for the pin at 9:00.

The lawyer comes out and announces Kurt Angle as the new Director because....well who else was it going to be? Angle says it's time for him to give back but here's the trio to interrupt. MVP can't believe that this is his replacement and violence is threatened, but Angle shouts that HE'S THE FREAKING BOSS. Angle makes Lashley vs. Young II for next week and reinstates Bobby Roode. The brawl is on to end the show.

Results

Gail Kim/Terryn Terrell b. Beautiful People – Eat Defeat to Love

Sanada b. Crazy Steve, Manik and DJZ – Tiger suplex to DJZ

James Storm b. Mr. Anderson – Last Call

Bram/Magnus b. Willow/Abyss – Bram pinned Abyss after hitting him with Janice

What now for Bray?

After facing Cena three times and basically losing all three of them, Bray said he was reborn and is stronger than ever. Cool stuff. I guess that he didn't mean he was strong enough to win the titles at MitB. Cool stuff. And now what? He kinda seems to be a bit separated from his family, since they don't come out together so often, he doesn't have a feud at the moment, since the one with Cena ended in a rather wierd way. He entered the WWEWHC ladder match with no real build up and no real place in there to be honest. What does he do now, where does he go from here?

If reports about him being a babyface are true, then he could potentially work a program with Lesnar. Cool stuff, dude. But until that happens, what does he do? It is safe to say that he won't go after Cena right now. which means he won't be going after the titles. What other legit face is there for him to face? Yea, every real face is occupied with their own feud. If he turns face somehow, what heels are out there? Yea, they are all occupied with their own stories.

I don't wanna be a bearer of bad news, but it kinda seems that they forgot about Bray for the past couple of weeks, or should I say they don't know what to do with him. I really hope this isn't another Damien Sandow or Dolph Ziggler case, where they seemingly get pushed to almost the moon, only to be forgotten.

How would you book Kevin Steen?

So Kevin Steen appears to be heading to WWE around August time. Steen has always intrigued me because he looks like a guy you see on the train everyday, but his wrestling skills are top notch, and his promo work is solid as well.

I'm normally not one for re-packagaing established indy stars for NXT, but we all know that Fight Steen Fight is never going to be allowed in PG WWE.

For me, given his working class, blue collar, everyday hero appearance, I would book Steen in a pretty identical way to Mick Foley. Steen easily outwrestles Foley, but he can use a slower pace to showcase his abilities, whilst taking some hefty bumps like we've seen him do in ROH. He should be a happy go lucky guy who will do what makes him happy, but if you cross him you best believe he's going to mess you up.

How would you guys book him?

WWE Announcers in Ten Years

Just wanted to throw out some things I've been thinking about concerning the present and future of the announce team to see what everybody thinks.

First, regarding the state of the current announce team, I think there are some positives and negatives. Michael Cole, and I know this isn't a popular opinion, is fine as a straight play by play guy--they just ask him to do too much because he doesn't get enough help from King and JBL. Ideally, he should be a neutral voice and foil to dynamic personalities on either side of him, both literally and in terms of ideological positions.

This, to me, is where King is no longer effective. He has very little dynamism at this point and no longer really has a clear voice and position in relation to the product. He's solid at the little things, like reading the ads and explaining on a basic level what's going on in the ring and how creative wants us to interpret the story, this competence is why he's still around, but I think we need more from that chair.

JBL, likewise, is serviceable but too often feels like a generic heel announcer with no real motivation for his character's positions other than being a contrarian. This makes his arguments seem hollow and ultimately hurts his ability to put guys over. He also does things well, particularly hyping a big fight feel even when that could be difficult. Again though, I think a more fleshed out character that connects with the audience rather than loudly arguing whatever common sense proposition is in front of him would be better.

So, here is my dream: In ten years, the WWE commentary team is CM Punk and John Cena with an experienced and familiar Cole still in the middle seat. If we have to think about this in the old face/heel paradigm, Punk is the heel, Cena is the face, and Cole is a neutral facilitator.

Punk's character, particularly, is a little more complex than the old heel routine, but the effect is pretty much the same. I think he could draw on his own experiences, and our collective imaginings of him as disgruntled and self-interested, to tell great stories as to why heels are reckless, indifferent to the rules, and selfish. He could really get heels over with this and give some great psychological insight that propels a story. He's also shown himself to be very comfortable on the mic and even announcing.

Cena, on the other hand, would be the babyface he always has been. He could tirelessly praise the heart and tenacity of the faces, and his credibility on those subjects would give a great rub to the praiseworthy. Wasn't something of this position missing, for example, in the long buildup for Daniel Bryan? A retired Cena could have talked about the tremendous adversity Bryan overcame with passion and respect. This job too often fell on Cole in that angle, and it suffered because no one cares what Cole thinks, he has no credibility with that kind of thing as a talking head without a wrestling background. I would have some concerns. He would have to shed his tendency to make light of things sometimes, for example, but with some work I think he could be great, with the added benefit of keeping him as an ambassador for the product.

So that's my two cents, I'm curious what everybody thinks about this team and if they have dream announce teams of their own. My intention isn't really for this to turn into a debate on the plausibility of Punk coming back, though I'm sure some of that is inevitable. I don't know if either would want to do this, but if I was in charge I would try like hell to make it happen.

I don't understand...

Seth Rollins won the MitB match. Ambrose was just so close on getting it, Kane interfered and basically won the match for Seth.

Later on, Cena overcame the odds, especially both Orton and Kane and became the WWEWHC.

I still don't understand why the heels always need to cheat to win, whereas the faces always overcome the hell out of every odds and win. I realize to a lot of extent why faces need to win fair and square, but why do heels always need dirty tactics, outside interference etc? Yea, it's pro wrestling 101, right? NO. That WAS pro wrestling. Times change and pro wrestling shouldn't be left behind. What at past years would seem as a dirty victory for Seth is now a win for Seth who can't make it on his own.

How about you let your heels win on their own, so that they establish themselves on their own? Ambrose wouldn't have lost any prestige. There were 5 other guys in there and it was every man for himself. Dean can get his victory at some point, but if you are gonna have someone win, make them show strong enough to be able to win on their own. For fuck sake...

my ongoing Facebook conversation with the National Association for Gun Rights

Cory Allen

I am all for people's right to have guns for defense of home, family & self but where I draw the line is when come psycho can get an automatic weapon and shoot up a school for no reason.*

What about a parents right to send their child to elementary school and not worry about them getting shot?

I am not for taking away guns entirely. That does go against the 2nd ammendment and I do not want to start down the slope of taking away guaranteed rights.

What I pray & hope for is laws that make it harder for people who will only misuse them to get them.

Saturday at 2:49pm

National Association for Gun Rights

Those laws you're talking about just don't work. Criminals and homicidal lunatics don't obey the laws. Reality is at no other time in human history have we gathered all of our children together for 8 hours a day and then issued a public guarantee that they will be defenseless. That's flat out crazy. If we post armed guards to keep "important people" safe, we should absolutely post them at schools to keep our kids safe. That would start to make a difference, instead of making our kids victims.

I agree 100% that we should have armed guards at schools

We have countless homeless veterans that I am sure would love to have the job of protecting our children.

Not to mention parents with Concealed carry permits. I'd volunteer at my kids' school one day a week to walk the halls if it meant keeping them safe. The problem isn't availability of able bodied guards; it's the mindset of the media who lump law abiding citizens with guns with homicidal lunatics.

The liberal media does do that and I don't agree at all.

But on the other hand the right is acting like all people who disagree with them are trying to ban all guns across the board.

There has to be equal ground where everyone is happy and I hope it's found before more children die

The Man to Finally Beat Rusev

Lost in the hoopla of John Cena's 15th Title win and Seth Rollins winning the MITB briefcase last night is the fact that Rusev remains unbeaten in WWE competition, and he kept his streak in tact against an apt challenger in Big E. The match was hard hitting and showcased the athleticism and power of both men.

Rusev is being build using a familiar WWE formula. Large, dominant, often non-English speaking foreign heel. Obnoxious manager who is the only one who can control him. A string of victories starting off with no names, then to jobber former stars, then to former mid-card champions, next to the main eventers. In the 90's, it was done extremely well with the likes of Yokozuna, Ludvig Borga, heck, even Kamala to an extent. Eventually, though, someone steps up to the challenge, defends America, and beats the unbeatable.

For me, the most memorable moment was when Yokozuna was dominating the WWF and was a 2-time reigning WWF Champion. He had squashed Hulk Hogan, who had shockingly failed to body slam the sumo champion. Yokozuna's managers, Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette, laid down a challenge - on board the Intrepid on the 4th of July, all comers could enter for a shot at body slamming the big man. Nobody could. (I had my money on Crush, by the way.)

And then the helicopter arrived, landed, and out walked Lex Luger. The crowd ate it up as Lex shoved his former friend Bobby "The Brain" Heenan aside. It was the voiceless babyface turn. Luger lined up, hit Yokozuna with his bionic elbow, and slammed the big man as the crowd went NUTS in a sea of patriotism. It took Lex Luger from a fairly unenviable spot in WWF and launched him into a main eventer for the next couple years.

Flash forward 21 years. Rusev is being built in much the same way, only instead of just a bodyslam, we're looking for someone to defeat the big man. Expectations have been The Big Show (snore) or John Cena. I've seen that movie before. It was ok. I don't wanna see the sequel.

The man who should defeat Rusev is Ryback.

Ryback came into WWE with a world of potential and was immediately placed in a dominant role. His "Feed Me More" chant was over with the crowd, and he was the babyface who truly did launch "The Shield." He absolutely has the power to match with Rusev. Ryback also has something guys like Big Show and Mark Henry do not have - youth on his side. Ryback is 31. Show is 42. Henry is 43.

Ryback's role as the savior to Curtis Axel's career is coming to a close and I don't expect the team to hang around any longer. Ryback's face turn could happen at the drop of a hat, and if Rusev and Lana are in the ring, taunting the US (imagine if it's following a World Cup loss in a big city) and issuing an open challenge, the sound of "Feed Me More" over the loudspeaker and the following Ryback entrance theme being played would light the night up:

It wouldn't need to happen that night, mind you, but a build to Summer Slam would be enticing at the very least. Ryback in a red, white, and blue singlet waving the American Flag would turn the character completely upside down and give Rusev a true challenge - both men would benefit from the match.

Feed Ryback...Rusev.

Report: *POSSIBLY* Dismal News For Daniel Bryan

As we heard on the Money in the Bank kickoff show last night, there's a possibility that Daniel Bryan may have to undergo another surgery on his neck. Bryan himself said that he's not regaining strength in his arm, which various reports online have been alleging for weeks. According to F4WOnline.com, if Bryan goes under the knife again, he may be out of action from 6 to 12 months.

If it's true that he'd be out for possibly up to a year, then I'm afraid the ride will genuinely be over for Bryan. After that long, people will have not only moved on, but other guys will have risen up in his absence. Plus, considering how troublesome his recovery has been going and would be going, it's doubtful that WWE would take a chance on him as a long term main event player. I feel bad for the guy, even if I wasn't a fan I'd still feel bad, because I know how hard he's worked and how much he loves wrestling. Even if I wasn't into the guy, I'd still respect him for his work ethic and devotion. Plus, based on everything I've ever heard or read, he genuinely seems like a nice, down to earth kinda person and it always especially sucks when people like that get shafted.

The World Title Record

ok so first a few facts and questions then ill make my point.

1st off according to wikipedia "Flair is officially recognized by WWE, TNA, and Pro Wrestling Illustrated as a 20-time world heavyweight champion (ten-time NWA Champion, eight-time WCW Champion, and two-time WWF Champion) although the actual number of his world championship reigns varies by source"

however wwe always mentions him as a 16 time world champ on tv. so which one is it?

2nd: "Cena is a 15-time World champion, consisting of a record 12 reigns as WWE Champion/WWE World Heavyweight Champion and three reigns as World Heavyweight Champion."

3rd: "Randy Orton is an eight-time WWE Champion/WWE World Heavyweight Champion and a four-time World Heavyweight Champion, making him a 12-time world champion."

however again i recall wwe mentioning on tv that he is a 13 time world champ. so which is it?

now my main question is this: do john cena and randy orton deserve to beat flairs record? they each probably have a good 5 years or more left. cena will deffinately beat the record and orton very well could. but does it mean as much if they do? flair won world titles in 3 different decades,1980's to 2001. cena has won all his over a 9 year span, 2005 to 2014. and orton over a 10 year span, 2004 to 2014.

i am curious about everyones thoughts on this. is flair's record that impressive or is it overrated? do cena or orton deserve to beat the record? and if they do beat it will it really mean that much considering the different eras and shorter time they would do it in?

Who would be the best signing for TNA of an active wrestler if available(non WWE)

I am going to say Silas Young.

The Last Real Man gimmick is reminiscent of Austin to a degree.

It would be fun to see him feud with James Storm or Bully Ray.

Others that might be good:

Ricochet

ACH (I would love him in the X Division)

Chris Herro

Adam Cole

Drew Galloway

The Briscoes

Cryme Tyme

Chuck Taylor

Kyle O'Reily

Gorgano

Matt Hardy

Sting

Greg Marasciulo

John Hennigan

What NON-WWE wrestler (Not currently signed to wwe) do you think would be a good fit for TNA?

Summerslam 2002: A Retrospective Look

This summer I'll be looking back on each of the previous Summerslam events, one by one. Every few days I will submit a new topic until we reach 2014's edition of the 2nd biggest brand in WWE.

This thread will be for discussing.... Summerslam 2002!

Summerslam 2002 took place on August 25, 2002. It was held at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Here are the results of the matches from this show:

0. Spike Dudley defeated Steven Richards singles match (02:35)

1. Kurt Angle defeated Rey Mysterio by submission in a singles match (09:20)

2. Ric Flair defeated Chris Jericho by submission in a singles match (10:22)

3. Edge defeated Eddie Guerrero in a singles match (11:47)

4. The Un-Americans (Lance Storm and Christian) (c) defeated Booker T and Goldust in a tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship (09:37)

5. Rob Van Dam defeated Chris Benoit (c) in a singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship (16:30)

6. The Undertaker defeated Test in a singles match (08:18)

7. Shawn Michaels defeated Triple H in an Unsanctioned Street Fight (27:20)

8. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) defeated The Rock (c) in a singles match for the WWE Undisputed Championship (16:01)

Now, here are some discussion questions concerning the event:

What was your favorite match on this show, and why did you like it the most? What about the worst match of this show, why did you like it the least?

If you could change a few things about Summerslam 2002, what would it be and why?

You may only use wrestlers who were available at the roster at that time or make changes that could have realistically taken place in August 2002. Please keep in mind the situations going into the show such as who could actually have been pushed into a title match, or what songs existed back then if you wanted to change the show's theme music, and so forth.

You may only discuss Summerslam 2002 in this thread. The remaining Summerslam events will be getting their own retrospective threads, any posts regarding other events will be considered spam and you risk getting an infraction.

Discuss! :)

John Cena is now a 15 TIME WWE World Heavyweight Champion!

So John Cena just won the MITB Championship match and became a 15 time World Champion! I'm happy with this as I feel it would've been bad timing for any of the other competitors and I also like John Cena.

What do you guys think? Where will this go from here?

Seth Rollins-Mr. Money In The Bank

So we all saw it. Seth Rollins, with help from Kane, climbed the ladder and grabbed the briefcase to become Mr. Money In The Bank. Personally, I saw this coming, and to be honest, I'm happy with it.

My questions for you guys are:

a) Are you happy with it?

b) Do you think he will successfully cash in?

c) When and against who do you think he will cash it in?

Seth Rollins Takes Money in the Bank Contract

Hey guys, as you know now, Rollins is the Money in the Bank winner. This is a great decision by the WWE because Rollins, who reminds me a lot of Edge to be honest, got so much heat tonight. This also means Rollins and Ambrose will be near the main-event scene due to their rivalry.

Reactions? Responses?

Money in the Bank Ladies Style

We all know that WWE's diva wrestling of today is quite different from the women's wrestling of the past. WWE obviously realizes its different and you can tell from the matches and the move sets its different.

That said, if we were going to have a 6-woman money in the bank match, and you have your choice of any past or present WWE ladies wrestler or diva who would you put in the match? Lita and Chyna (don't have to be a high flyer for this match. razor ramon and kane did fine being bigs) come to mind right away to me. but I can't think of anyone on today's roster that could potentially take the kind of bumps you'd want to see in a ladder match like the get knocked off the ladder in mid-climb move.

Money in the Bank LD

Waiting to get in. "Cena Sucks" and "YES" chants already in line

Question about the Network, and PPV's if anyone knows

I currently have the network, but am gonna be out this evening, so wont be home to watch MitB. How soon after the PPV will it be available on the network?

Thanks

Brian

Sting vs The Great Muta

So I was watching some of my all time favorite matchs on youtube.

It feels weird seeing the WWE banner on this KNOWING that both Muta and Sting never wrestled for WWE.

I hope that they both get into the Hall of Fame one day.

I loved this entrance theme for LOD

Now on to the topic... I remember this match (see below) where they were both in white.. but I can't seem to find the full match anywhere. Can someone help me find this one?

Back in the day, Muta was fantastic! I'm glad he has never damaged his legacy over the years.

Possible swerve for WWE Money in the Bank 2014

So, WWE Money in the Bank PPV is tonight, and everyone seems to have their opinions on who would win, with the majority being either Roman Reigns, John Cena or Randy Orton. But now I've been hearing that WWE might POSSIBLY have Alberto Del Rio win the title to persuade him to re-sign a new contract. Now, I can maybe understand why they would do this, as they may feel that they don't have anyone else to entice their Spanish/Mexican fanbase to tune in, but how does that saying go? "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it"? Something like that, anyway. Just about every time they've made Alberto Del Rio champion, they've had to switch and give it to someone else within a couple of months. The reason? He's boring. He doesn't really put the a$$es in seats, so to speak. The Mexican Aristocrat was played out years ago, and when he was face, that was the only time he wasn't really playing that character. Everytime I see him on my screen, I immediately try and find something else to do. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Either way, IF they go with having him win it, I'm sure we'll see a fairly quick cash-in. If not, where can they go, story-line wise? He has almost no history with Daniel Bryan, if Bryan is even ready to go in the next month or so. Who else is there that we could care about going after Del Rio for the title? Any ideas? Anyway, I really hope this doesn't happen.

If you could replace...

As I was watching WWE's Main Event yesterday, I saw the match between R-Truth and Xavier Woods vs Rybaxel. Seeing Axel, a thought came to my head. What if Axel had replaced Eric Rowan of the Wyatt family from the beginning?

Bray Wyatt is obviously the leader, gold on the mic and decent-to-good in the ring. Luke Harper shows good signs on the mic too, and is really good in the ring, especially for a semi-big guy (or tall guy). Eric Rowan is obviously the Wyatt member who seems to be the weak link. I'm not taking anything away from him, but he still hasn't shown anything on the mic, since he hasn't been given the mic, and in the ring, he seems kinda limited, at least so far. So, I had the idea that someone could replace Eric, and I believe Curtis Axel would be a perfect option, no pun intended, for that role.

Curtis is obviously a semi-big guy himself, and moves way better than Eric. I understand that in some way, Eric fills the role of the really big guy, the juggernaut etc, but I think the duo of Harper and Axel would work so much better. As I said, they are both good technically, they both do a dropkick which would seem awesome and they both have the same body structure. Their names also souns similar. It would also be a great way to develop Curtis Axel, certainly way better than how we is being developed right now. Harper came in as a nobody and now is being thought by a lot as a great talent who could hold his own on a single's career. Axel would definitely be able to pull that off too.

If it's not broken, don't fix it and the Wyatt family isn't broken, but what if....

Who will replace Barrett tomorrow night?

I'm pretty sure someone will replace Bad News Barrett tomorrow. I read that his photo was taken out of the gallery on WWE's Facebook page.

Now, here's the thing. I think that even if Bad News competed, we were still going to have a surprise entrant. They have 8 guys in the main event and 7 in the other match. While 7 is unheard of, I think they were going to bring in an 8th man. Now that Barrett is injured, it will probably stay as 7 and they'll announce this other guy to be Barrett's replacement.

And who do I think it is? Well.. Who better to win a briefcase full of money than someone who came to play and has a price to pay?????

I can see Miz coming in and winning the match. I'll actually be pretty excited for it. Hopefully they put Alex Riley back with him. Their schtick was gold and it's been enough time that I'd like to see it again.

Then again, maybe they would prefer if the surprise entrant is someone we can bolieve in.

Considering Bo isn't announced for the PPV yet, I think he has a big chance of being the surprise entrant and maybe even winning the Money in the Bo-ank.

I'm hoping for Miz though. I'm a big fan even if the IWC has turned on him. I hope it isn't someone anticlimactic like Santino, Truth or Big Show, but WWE loves to troll us with their classic "Big Show surprises".

So who would you like to replace Barrett, and who do you think will it be???

Swerve at MITB/How a Brock Lesnar title reign would work...

My bad if this post was deleted.I created it earlier and I don't think it saved because I checked my page and it wasn't there.

There has been talk of John Cena,Randy Orton or Cesaro walking out MITB champion. The case would be for the winner to face Brock Lesnar at Summerslam.I say how about a element of surprise and have Brock Lesnar himself win the belt at MITB.Think about it Brock techinically wouldn't have competed in the match so it would not count as one of his matches. But he would win the belt in the match. How would that work.First Cesaro tells Paul to stay backstage because how he screwed Punk last year.I would have Roman take out Kane early on and focus on Roman Reigns.Sheamus and Bray beat each other up.I would have the family take out Sheamus.Bray Wyatt get's beat down and taken out by Cena.Reigns,Orton,Cesaro,Cena all climb ladders.Orton gets knocked down and from out of nowhere Triple H hits Roman with the sledgehammer and pedigrees him.It would be down to Cena and Cesaro and Cena knocks down Cesaro. We then here Brock Lesnar's music.Brock comes down and Cena gets off the ladder and get's F-5'ed.Cesaro get's in Brock's face and ask him to back down but get's F-5ed.Brock throws him out the ring and F-5s him into the steel post.He then F-5's him through the announce table.John Cena get's up and goes to climb the ladder and get's F-5'ed and Brock then F-5's Kane.Brock climbs the ladder and grabs the belt and Paul Heyman comes out smiling to end MITB.

Why have Brock take out Cesaro,Cena and Kane? He takes out Cesaro by orders from Paul Heyman and this would write him out until after NOC.He takes out Cena and Kane because they are in the way and because....How would this work at Battleground. Kane vs John Cena to determine the #1 contender for the WWE hvt. title at Summerslam.

Next Night On Raw (after MITB) Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman comes out grining.Paul reminds us how Brock conquered the streak. He then say's how he was playing Cesaro to get Brock what he deserves.Brock get's the mic but Cesaro interrupts and can barely move (on crutches) and he falls down.Brock runs down and F-5's him through the minitron.Brock heads back to the ring and say's they wasn't finished.Kane's music hits and before he can make his way down Triple H stops him.We hear him screaming at Hunter he "ended my brothers career." Triple H tells him he will get Brock at Battlegro... John Cena's music hits.He say's he has a bone to pick with Brock as he cost him the WWE hvt. title.Triple H makes Kane vs Cena (#1 contenders match) at Battleground.

BattlegroundJohn Cena def. Kane... Brock Lesnar F-5's him

SummerslamBrock Lesnar def. John Cena

NOCJohn Cena def. Brock Lesnar after Cesaro's music hit.And If the plan is for Rock to still win the title to face Roman at WM 31.Then at RR I would have Rock vs Cena III with Rock winning.

Raw afterCesaro attacks Brock and calls him out for WrestleMania.Paul say's no,and keeps saying no.

RRCesaro,Roman,Dean,Seth,Bray are the final 5.Cesaro eliminates Bray Wyatt. We then here Brock Lesnar's music.Him and Heyman comes out and tells him "he can have Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, all he has to do is step down and quit the RR match." Cesaro shakes his head no,not that way.Rollins take advantage and eliminates him.We are down to Roman,Dean,Seth.Seth get's eliminated and it is down to Roman and Dean.Roman eliminates Dean.Dean shakes his hand but looks pissed. The night after WrestleMania 31 Dean ends up turning heel and feuding with Reigns for the belt.

Raw next nightBrock Lesnar accepts Cesaro's challenge "via satellite" he the F-5's him.

WM 31 Top matches-

Brock Lesnar vs Cesaro

The Rock (c) vs Roman Reigns (WWE hvt. title)

Triple H vs Dean Ambrose

John Cena vs Batista vs Randy Orton (End Of an Era)

Seth Rollins vs Daniel Bryan

WWE Money in the Bank: Summer Rae VS Layla (with Fandango as special guest referee)

This didn't have a thread yet, but WWE has it as a match for Money In the Bank 2014 so let's get some discussion in on this one!

This feud has gotten a lot of time onscreen to develop. It's had more attention than the Divas Championship feud. So, why aren't these girls getting into the title scene while Paige gets stuck facing someone like Naomi? It should be ok as far as divas matches go but it won't be anything special. Fandango and Summer were a better couple than Fandango and Layla in my opinion. I'm hoping to see Summer win this and get a bit of momentum going into a possible Divas Championship match with Paige later down the line. Layla doesn't need the win here. I expect some type of finish to where Layla might remain with Fandango afterwards but Summer ultimately wins the match itself. It probably goes on in the earlier half of the night in between the tag team matches or something.

DAGGER'S PREDICTION

Summer Rae will defeat Layla

~~~~~~~~~
Now it's your turn.
What are your thoughts on this match? Who do you think will win and why?
