Last night we had the Daddy of all thunderstorms here in the North East. About 10pm the lightning was severe and each flash within a couple of minutes each time.
That did it, like sugar off a shovel, I was into the study, shut down the computer and pulled the plugs from the main.
Herself thought I was demented, but recalling a storm equally as bad one August day years ago, same thing pull the plugs until the storm had gone. Next day, up and down the street white vans arrived. Seems it was scorched innards at every house but ours.
As yet, no vans have appeared but then again it is Sunday. So, was I a silly George?
What would you do if heavy storm came down your street?
