Powerline ...the original concept(are they still working on it?)

We take the Network over Ethernet Powerline boxes for granted these days
But I Noted Just before they were put on sale there was Test transmitting the same over the National Grid (2013) ...but what happened to that project, what speeds did they achieve and I imagine the Router part of the Process would have been eliminated or revised ...other thing I read was the Power supply company would be the ISP

Here are the Facts regarding Broadband over Powerline the consensus said it was workable ..but what or who stopped it from happening?

There must be a Compromise among the concerns
...For instance I Have never heard of any signal interference by 3rd parties ...NATO think they will be infiltrated by this route..and Lightening strikes? Being the Grid the signal Continues same as Internet hubs
The Not spot Issue will be almost resolved it as better than 90% of the World uses electricity off the National Grid as far as I can recall None of the ISP's made any comments about the Broadband over Powerline protocol Looking @ to from a different angle the Home user would have 2 signals coming in the Telephone signal and Supplemented by (Bop) via the Powerline boxes as Now Or if the Powerline goes down still got a connection over the powerline some wireless Telephones (with charging "Bases") have this trick though it not advertised (Only good for local Home ring main)
PS It'll be impossible to pick out any WiFi signal on the Power line Have to resort to Wardriving and WiFi Detection in the current style ...No Break in possible for eavesdropping

Seems on that Wiki interest has waned since 2008! But then came the Local(Now Common place) Powerline Plug about 2010? with No Horror stories ....Time to revisit and review that older Plan Methinks?
