There is a thing I always say, it is better not to be super famous than to be a famous joke. Roode is not completely unknown to wrestling. However he is not as famous as someone from wwe. However is that bad thing?
I don't think so. Look at the one of the people who were tna orginals who went to wwe, Monety Brown . This guy had THE LOOK and was a pretty good wrestler, still he got buried and was pretty much a joke in the wwe, they never really gave the guy a shot.
To me wwe will never give someone like Roode or any tna made guy a real shot to move up the ladder just because they were tna made guys. I understand if he is given the chance and fails, but let's be honest wwe would never have gave him a shot. It is part of their business strategy, they don't want to draw attention to another promotion even tna. He probably would have been known as a joke, got released quickly.
However he stayed with tna and became world champion. He is not even in bad shape now, he is doing decent. Yes he is not as famous as he could have been, but if he did leave and got buried in wwe, he probably would not have been allowed back into tna and probably made less money signing autographs, doing wrestling events. Most of the people who go to these side wrestle events are hardcore fans who know who roode is anyways.
To me he did the right thing. Yes right now tna is not doing well right now, but that thing about going down with the ship is bullcrap, i never once heard any of the wcw wrestlers were joke JUST because they were in a company when it died. He made to me the right choice.
Also all these people who say the tna "guys" should have gone to wwe, hate tna no matter what, and hate on them for being there probably hate them anyways. Who cares about these people, clear cut bias against him. I am not talking about people who thinks they should have gone to or go to wwe, I am talking about people who hate on them for not being in wwe.
What are your thoughts, what is your opinion , did Roode do the right thing?
