Excellent...Need more of these T&C's to reduce Spam/vandalism

I have something to add to a thread on the Digital spy TV forum But am forced to wait!

Obviously Have to register ... Yet I Find they have a "Suspended"/Deferred posting Policy in place for New Members to Keep Riff raff and Spammers off the site
The moratorium Process is simple To set up and Understand

You are Banned for a few days (Can Browse ) while the Moderator determines your screenname is legal (after passing the Auto check when registering
...Not a commercial name nor a Letter jumble .. >Blocks the Application...If It OK the The site is opened up with some limitations such as No Attachments or PM to members
This latter condition from what I've seen can be in effect for a Month to 3 months after the First Post on the Forum

If I was to Modify this Process slightly then The Moderator can authorise an email to the Registered email with a Validation(activation) code

As I say It slows down things somewhat but It deters a Lot of Potential trouble and also the Slash and Dash Spammers
Am Passing this idea Onto 2 Contacts(webmasters) who have been Plagued with all sorts of Malware /Spam over the past 10-15 years Had to rely in Member feedback the "Ban" but they return ...Often Filling out the Members list (WU too) as Zero post members)
I recall one of those forums had 30K Members , of which 5000 was "active " 1 to 10 posts " but In real time there was Less than 50 fully active posters

With the Moratorium in place The Group can be Kept to a compact size (and Decent) The rest can remain as Lurkers

NOTE The revised Google Mapmaker App Has a New "Moratorium" policy in place to stop People Making Rude shapes on the Map also comments
All the community can comment and Improve on each other (subject to the same rules)
is Public flagged...Periods Better than a Week (Variable)? Then its approved (Published) or rejected OK?...I Have Noted on My Log it as 3 Changes and no Location "live" link details (all approved)
