Over the past few months, something somewhat unexpected has come about. We've seen an extremely dated angle of USA vs. Russia revived and is actually gotten over. While the real world controversy of what's been going on with Russia and Ukraine has fueled the angle, to the discomfort of some for some strange reason, I think WWE should take advantage of the situation, at least to some degree.
For the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia is being portrayed by various news outlets around the world as the big, bad boogeyman to some degree. The propaganda isn't running wild as it did during the decades of the Cold War, but there's enough turmoil going on that WWE could further build heat for Rusev by having him win the WWE United States Championship. Sheamus has been out of action for a little because, reportedly, of a very, very severe case of the flu and I just think this could be an opportunity for WWE to pounce on.
