Everything is a placeholder for WrestleMania.

I wasn't watching pro wrestling back in the Attitude Era the way I do now. For the past 6 years, I've been watching pretty much all Raws, Smackdown and PPVs and in those 6 years, what I have figured out is that all year long, they are just building up the stories to lead up to the next year's WM. This in itself isn't a bad thing. Wrestlemania is the biggest show of the year and most of the time, every feud should be culminating in that show. WM should hold the final match of a big feud, the memorable match etc etc.

The problem with the WWE now is that they are depending on that fact way too much. Check 2013. From Summerslam 2013 up until WM30, everything was pretty much the build up for Bryan's ultimate win. The PPVs, and the programming in general, was Bryan getting screwed over and over and over again so that he can have the big WM moment, where his story/feud culminated there. Even though the end result was really good, I have to say that having so many screw ups, resulting in bad programming for 9 months isn't good.

As I said above, I understand that things need to lead up to that WM moment, but it seems that WWE is just depending solely on that and always build on that and nothing else. So many screwy finishes, so many stories that don't really make sense, and they just happen all year long, until we get closure at WM. THIS IS BAD. The programming needs to be good and consistent all year along, topping it with a great WM.

Look at that is happening now. Seth is playing the chicken heel, avoiding all fights etc. In all of his matches, Orton and Kane run in, not letting as get a definite winner between him and Dean / Roman etc. It is obvious that Dean and Seth will face each other at HiaC and to me, they will probably lead up to WM31. That's fine with me. But please, having a 6 month build with the same thing, Kane interfering everywhere, isn't enjoyable. They will probably just do this thing for 6 months, "placeholding" for the eventual WM match. Same for Lesnar for when he fights probably Reigns. Needless to say, the other titles/feuds have no direction, but hey...

The WWE is just delaying feuds, instead of mixing it up. And this isn't good. We don't want screwy finishes all year long, just to get the pay off at Mania....
