Google Added the Public Transit Feature to most Countries Globally showing the Route with Bus routes train and walking where needed which on the surface can be a great help going somewhere strange with out digging out several time tables and checking online at several URL's
And it marks up nicely on the maps, which is fine if you are wanting the next journey or within the hour..
Yesterday I noted a New link in the box called Schedule Explorer which opens up the timing and routing information off the Transit companies databases (live?) for the current to an even Future dates So far so good ...now pick any 2 targets and watch the map the server software pick out some literal routes while being commanded to keep it simple:o
In my test I was directed westward into the Liverpool outskirts by several miles yet it said (Straight faced)the total Journey time was 5 Minutes longer than the normal timing
The route I tested was from our location to Haydock Park Race track of which there are several permutations over the 12/13 odd miles can be about anything up to 90 minutes Google came up Trumps giving the best A to B route but when Expanded it started wandering on to other routes where you have to change buses several times!
The best route only has 1 change
