In the '90s, there was almost no one as amazing to watch in the ring than The Icon, The Showstopper, Mr. Wrestlemania; my Shawn Michaels. He could wrestle against anyone and would not only be one of, if not the best match on the card, he would steal the show. If you look back at his time in that era, there was almost no one capable of being better than him in the ring. He had match of the year again and again, and won the first Grand Slam.
Then he got backdropped onto a casket and broke his back, putting him out of action for a looong four and a half years. When he finally returned, it was to a masterpiece with HHH, before starting an amazing seven in a row PWI Match of the Year Awards (breaking his own personal record of four straight from 1993-1996) and three straight WON Match of the Year Awards. Some would say he was even better on his return, despite losing nearly five years due to injury.
So, has anyone ever returned from injuries better than Shawn did? He was one of the best in the world before his injury, and then put on great show after great show, winning award after award. I can't think of anyone who beats him, but let me know if you can!
