How to restore prestige back to the U.S. and I.C. Titles

Personally the only way to bring back prestige or at least to restore prestige back to the WWE United States Championship and the WWE Intercontinental Championship respectively is by unifying said titles merging both titles and really making it a big deal like pitting the WWE United States Champion and the WWE Intercontinental Champion against one another in a unification match where the winner ends up with both titles and then afterwards whoever wins ends up making history but also having the newly won unified title defended on a more consistent basis would bring prestige back at least to the mid-card because it would catapult whichever midcarder back into the main event or it would catapult whichever midcarder that has never been in the main event into the main event
